Minali Tallarico	Though she definitely enjoyed her spices, being raised in the Fire Nation and all, Mina was also just like every other woman on the face of the planet... she loved sweets. "Ah say we start with spicy..." Mina agreed, eyeing a vendor who claimed to have the hottest fire flakes and barbecue komodo-rhino kabobs in the entire Fire Nation, "An' then we finish up with somethin' cold an' sweet!" To which she shifted her gaze to an Air Temple style frosted fruit pie stand, where the treats stood glistening in the lantern light. Oh yes, that would do nicely, for her. Still, if Akhet chose to go for a different dish, he was definitely able to do so - maybe they could even swap bites, or something. And if her husband didn't want sweets, Mina could still indulge, herself. Which she would definitely want to do.

Akhet Sumatra Tallarico	Akhet was vaguely (and by vaguely I actually mean extremely) aware of his sweetheart's sweet tooth. It was pretty much as sweet as she was, and that dang well said something. "sounds good to me... any preference on drinks?" there were definitely plenty of delicious fruity beverages to choose from, or even some delicious pure water if they wanted top save the sweets for the Air Nation stall after dinner. Thus... Akhet seemed to have agreed once again with Minali on what to eat... not that that was a bad thing in any way... and of course they could share food... so hopefully even if they got similar types of food, he wanted them to get different ones so they could swap. they'd definitely buy all kinds of sweets to sample when the time came, and share them all.

Minali Tallarico	Taking hold of Akhet's hand, the curly-haired engineer lead the way to the spicy Fire Nation food stall, a light bounce in her step. The menu was quite varied, actually, and for a moment Mina had trouble deciding. "Ah think Ah want..." She mused aloud, pausing for several beats as she reread the menu once again, "Maybe th'spicy komodo-rhino sausage in curry-spice noodles?" That was something that she'd never had before, really. It was so tempting. To drink, Mina would probably get some yak-cow's milk from the Air Temple stall, actually, to help cut down on some of the spice from her meal. She didn't have milk often, since it was harder to get in Fire Fountain City - and even harder to keep good in an ice box for long - but she loved it, when it was available. Especially when it was ice cold.

Akhet Sumatra Tallarico	The bounce in Minali's step mesmerized Akhet--not so much for her hips (though they were lovely), but more because of those tantalizing curls. He loved them, and just wanted to ruffle-ruffle-ruffle the ever-living cuteness out of them (an impossibility; they'd always be cute), but... he resisted. that cute little ribbon needed to stay in, after all--at least this early on. "mmm... that sounds delicious..." he admitted. Of course, much like saying that Minali looked cute in a certain outfit, Akhet pretty much agreed that anything sounded delicious. He was one of those men... the ones that could eat a ton, AND would eat anything. It was why leftovers were scarce in the recently-formed little Tallarico household. "I think I could go for a bit of Turkey-duck and a side of Northern shrimp... maybe glazed in some Fire sauce..." he chuckled. A little mix-n-match from three of the four nations... though he'd technically also get some Air Nation mixed in once dessert rolled around. For his drink, he went for some fruit juice that... he honestly didn't check the identity of. all he knew was that it was a reddish orange, and that it hit the spot. He also got a glass of water, since those were always handy anyways. Soon, the lovely couple were seated and eating. Akhet leaned over to give Minali a kiss on the cheek. "so... how's it taste so far?" he cooed.

Minali Tallarico	Though Mina considered herself well equipped to handle spicy foods... her dinner was doing its best to prove her wrong. Apparently that guy wasn't kidding when he said that he had the hottest food in the Fire Nation. Fanning at her mouth when Akhet asked his question, she actually had to take a drink before she could answer, just to cool her mouth down. "S'hawt..!" She answered with a laugh, the word slurring slightly because Mina was still practically panting to cool off, "Ah'm tryin' t'keep m'eyes from waterin'... S'really good, though - Ah can't stop takin' more bites." That was the funny thing; sure, it hurt, but it was sooooo good. "How 'bout yers?" She asked, glancing down at Akhet's plate.

Akhet Sumatra Tallarico	One might have thought that Akhet's lack of spicy experience might have made him a lightweight in that field... but not so. in fact, it was almost the opposite, given that for the last few years, he had almost binged, per se, on spicy things. His was definitely hot as well, but he was either pretending not to hurt from it, as to "impress" Minali (he knew she wouldn't negatively judge him for something that trivial though), or maybe hew as just that resilient. "Mine's pretty strong too... I guess that's why they call it fire sauce." he joked. "wanna piece?" he offered her a bite of his food for a bite of hers. Hers was... definitely hot. he couldn't exactly tell whose was hotter, but they had come from the same stand, so maybe they were the same? The juice was delightful though, and Akhet was certainly enjoying it. Hot as it was... it was delicious.

Minali Tallarico	No, Mina would never judge Akhet over something as stupid as how spicy he could handle his food... That would just be ridiculous and unfair. It's not like she ate spicy things all the time either, anyway; she just enjoyed them when she did, just like Akhet did. The sauce that glazed Akhet's duck was definitely similar to what was on Mina's sausage, though with some slightly different underlying spices to compliment the different meat. It was very good, but Mina still found herself having to take another drink of that yak-cow milk that she'd gotten (thankful that she'd gotten a large glass). "S'good," She agreed with a nod, once she had cooled her mouth off a little, "Definitely spicy too, though." It was impossible to tell which of their dishes was 'hotter', so to speak, and Mina didn't even try.

Akhet Sumatra Tallarico	Perhaps that was one of the reasons they got along so well then... the fact that they were so non-judgmental of each other. In fact, they were the opposite--they were so open and accepting of their differences, and had embraced them and enjoyed them. Akhet's juice served the same purpose as Minali's milk, and he had actually ordered two large glasses for that reason (well, and becuase he ate a lot, so would need a lot to wash it down. But, on the other hand, her smile coupled with his meant that they were quite enjoying themselves and the food. "hot and spicy... brings life to the place, wouldn't you say?" he teased playfully. "I know a woman who is just like that--hot and lively. you want me to tell you about her?" Every now and again Akhet would tell Minali about "a woman he knew..." well, the first few times it had actually saddened Minali till he clarified that he was talking about her (what sort of idiotic guy would talk to his wife so admirably about another woman anyways!?). So... at this point she probably knew he was about to describe her, but he hoped she'd play along.

Minali Tallarico	"Oh, please do," Mina giggled, knowing the game by now, "Ah'd love t'hear about 'er...~" It was a very cute way for her husband to talk about her, and she definitely appreciated it as such. Mina just thought that Akhet was the best; maybe she'd have to do the same to him, once he was done...? She would stop eating for the moment as he spoke, to show that she was listening intently - and so that she could stop and kiss him, if he got too adorable. Mina loved doing that, since, in her opinion, Akhet got pretty dang cute pretty dang often.

Akhet Sumatra Tallarico	"well... she helped me build a hot tub once... and she has so much brown... her skin, her eyes, her hair... it's a very beautiful mix, really..." he grinned at her, "oh! and she has the most adorable little freckles. I had to get really close to her face to see 'em though... I even kissed her." He whispered for the next part, not wanting to bellow Minali's private life for everyone to hear (even if they did have a good radius to themselves). "she also wears sexy underwear... and looks really good naked. I've undressed her... so I know." he nibbled her ear. Then, "the cat was out of the bag" (as if... ha. it was delightfully obvious who he was talking about at this point. "I love you Minali." he smiled, leaning forward to give her that kiss that she was clearly expecting, and thus clearly deserved.

Minali Tallarico	Giving a playful little gasp, pretending to be surprised, Mina joked, "Y'were talkin' about me..?" Of course she smiled half a beat later and leaned in to return her husband's kiss. She had appreciated his discretion, when he lowered his voice, even though the odds of someone hearing them - let alone paying attention to what they were talking about - was minimal. "Ah love you too, Akhet," She murmured happily once the kiss was finished, her smile actually dimpling her cheeks just slightly, "Ah think Ah love ya more an' more, every day...~" Mina could be just as flirtatious as Akhet, of course, but she generally showed it with her actions, rather than words; not that showing it with words was bad, but that was Akhet's way, not Mina's way.

Akhet Sumatra Tallarico	"you are correct!" he grinned, "you win a prize." said 'prize' was a big fat kiss on the cheek. He had lowered his voice for the last part also because he didn't feel the need to talk about his wife like that so publicly. It wasn't like anyone else got to or deserved to see her like that anyways. That was a treat only for him. (and similarly, him in a similar state of undress was a treat only her eyes got to see). Akhet smirked. "I know I love you more and more every day... so it sounds reasonable to me." he grinned at her. "as long as I'm with you... I'm happy." Simple, but true. Akhet was also aware that Minali preferred using actions rather than words a lot of the time, and that was perfectly okay. He could adapt, and so he used words and actions... anything to see Minali's feace brighten. That was always a highlight of his day.

Minali Tallarico	Wrapping her arms around him lovingly, Mina continued to press kisses to Akhet's lips, cheeks, chin - anything. Perhaps it was a little forward, given their location, but they didn't seem to be attracting any attention (outside of the casual glance of a passerby). Finally, when she pulled back, she was blushing a little, but still very obviously happy and in love with the man she'd just been kissing. "Ah... think Ah'm about finished," She did mention, returning to her seat, looking down at the remains of her meal - which was now a small soggy pile of noodles, "D'ya wanna get up an' explore before dessert?" Mina wanted to see the games and such that she remembered from her childhood, and possibly the stalls that carried clothes and various nicknacks as well.

Akhet Sumatra Tallarico	To Akhet, as long as they weren't touching someone in an inappropriate area (such as something normally covered by one's undergarments), he was fine with it. They were both fully clothed, and were married to boot. Their wedding rings sometimes glistened in the lantern-light (for by now it was dark, but the lanterns everywhere illuminated the place), and so he saw nothing wrong. he was just showing some well-deserved affection to his beautiful wife. He patted his stomach and then patted Minali's back. "yeah... let's burn off some of this chub and take a look around. dessert will still be waiting for us when we get back." he smiled at her. The stands were open as long as the festival was in swing, after all. He took her hand, helping her up, and then stood beside her. "lead the way, sweetie..." he smiled. she had been here before, even if it was years ago, so he wanted to let her relive her childhood memories, if she had any. He4 was sure he'd enjoy it either way.

Minali Tallarico	Gasping, pretending to be offended, Mina remarked, while dragging her hands over her hips for emphasis, "S'not chub...! S'curves!" But she giggled shortly afterward, which meant that it was all okay, and that she knew what Akhet was saying. Taking his hand, Mina entwined their fingers, leading the way into the heart of the Festival - though she didn't really know where she was going. They ended up near the games, which had her bouncing on the balls of her feet. "Y'wanna try one?" She asked Akhet, looking at him and then out at the game booths again, trying to see what there was to try. There were goldfish tosses (with actual goldfish? she wondered), feats of strength, a stall where an old man would try to guess your weight, and even dart-throwing booths.

Akhet Sumatra Tallarico	Akhet smirked, and couldn't help but grab her hips. "beautiful curves..." he added, releasing her curves, "I was more talking about myself anyways..." he pretended to grab his stomach as if eating that last meal had suddenly put about 40 pounds on him or something (which obviously it didn't). He chuckled with her since they both knew it was a joke anyways though. Even if it was chub, Akhet wouldn't have minded. but, Minali was built thick in the thighs, and he knew quite well that it translated to some lower body strength that could overpower his own. He had no idea where they were going either, but he didn't care. Getting lost with Minali would not be a bad thing, no siree. "oooh. I do." he smirked, slowly migrating over to one where he could test his strength. It was a guy thing for sure, and he wanted to test his strength both for reference and so he could show off to his wife. "you wanna see how STRONG your man is?" he grunted and flexed his arms comically for effect, figuring Minali might get a good laugh out of it. besides... that would be quick, and then she could choose a game.

Minali Tallarico	Mina had followed him over to the booth, inspecting it curiously. When Akhet flexed for her and grunted, it made her giggle; she loved when he was being silly. Still, lowering her eyelashes until it looked almost sexual, she murmured, "Oh... Ah think Ah know just how strong m'husband is...~" Still, she would clap and cheer for Akhet regardless of what the game said, or didn't say. It was the typical 'hammer and bell' game, which everyone knew how to play. The large man attending the booth passed the mallet to Akhet, explaining that he had to make the large bell at the top ring, in order to get a prize. Luckily for the large man, he didn't seem as though he was going to heckle Akhet over being smaller than he was - or else Mina would've had to kick his ass.

Akhet Sumatra Tallarico	Grinning, he winked at her. "maybe you do... but your man is about to win you a prize... since you gave him two prizes earlier today." mentioning the two different little things she had modelled for him. Simple as it was, he was being playful and enjoying himself here. "actually, I'm stealing one prize real quick..." he leaned in and pecked her lips, not wanting to fully make out in front of these people. They could get away with it easier at the tables near the food stands, but here there was not really a place to sit down... so yeah. Akhet took the mallet, evaluating its weight, and the angle he'd need to take for this thing to hit the maximum effect. Well... he swung, and... ALMOST made it. Well... this "almost" bullshit was not good enough for Akhet. Minali didn't deserve an "almost" husband, and so slapping another couple of coppers into the man's hand, he took the mallet again. "That was a warmup," he promised Minali. "This one's the real deal..." he cracked his knuckles, took a deep breath, and then slammed that mallet down, sending the projectile up so fast that it dinged the bell rather loudly. Yes... MUCH better. Grinning at Minali, he wanted to see her reaction.

Minali Tallarico	Him stealing a prize early made Mina giggle, but she of course thought it was adorable. When the ball nearly hit the bell, she gasped, hoping that it would go the last inch... but it fell. Still, she clapped for Akhet, bouncing in place a little. That was a lot closer than she could've gotten, anyway. Besides, it's not like her pride in her husband hinged on how well he did at festival games... Still, it seemed as though Akhet was going to try again, claiming that his first was a warmup. Fair enough, Mina figured, since new things often took two tries for one to succeed. This time, the bell clanged loudly, causing Mina to cheer, really bouncing in place. "Y'did it!" She congratulated him, throwing her arms around her husband, laughing with playful happiness, "Tha' was great, Akhet!" If he could get excited and playful over the Festival games, then so could she. And boy, was she. Mina didn't even care about the prizes or the games themselves for the most part; though she was clearly caught up in the mood of the Festival itself and the wonderful company of her husband.

Akhet Sumatra Tallarico	Akhet smiled, knowing that Minali would be happy for him even if he didn't win... but again. He'd be having none of that "Almost" bullshit. He knew that Minali's respect for him didn't even come close to hinging on this, but it still felt good to be able to impress her with trivial but entertaining displays of strength. He had hardly put down the mallet when she threw his arms around him, and so he did the same, lifting her off of her feet for a moment (simply by wrapping his arms around her waist or hips; rather than lifting her by her butt like they usually did at home). "I did it for you..." he smirked, kissing her before setting her gently back on her feet. "which one do you want to play next?" he offered with a smile. "we can just take turns picking..." it made sense to him, at least.

Minali Tallarico	"First Ah gotta give ya yer prize..." Mina reminded him with a wink. Reaching out, she hooked a single finger in Akhet's shirt collar, pulling him gently closer. Leaning in as well, she pressed her lips to his for one of those slow, gentle kisses (though, because they were in public, she did keep her tongue in her own mouth - that would be for later). Then, grinning brightly, she released him and began to look around for her game of choice. The curly-haired engineer spotted one. "Oooh!" She bounced in place on her toes, "Wanna go try th'ring toss?" There was a large, square booth set up across the way... bottles stood up and awaited the bright silver-colored rings that would soon ring them. For a ringer, the prize seemed to be a rather... odd looking stuffed critter. Mina had never seen one before; it was like a turtle-duck, but also like a panda-dog. A panda-duck? Either way, it was kinda cute, and Mina was confident in her ring-throwing abilities.

Akhet Sumatra Tallarico	Akhet chuckled. "oooh... I get TWO prizes?" he chuckled, "I am a lucky man..." he did believe he was one, but also a loving man. He felt like he had quite satisfactorily earned Minali's love, and all of it was nothing short of real and sincere and eternal. He loved the little ways they showed affection for each other, public or not. He returned the kiss of course, smiling at her and then following her eyes as she looked around. She laid her eyes on the ring toss and then spoke up. Akhet nodded with a grin. "yeah... let's see if we're as precise with our aims as we are with our blueprints and machines..." he winked at her. Both of them were pretty damn good aims, for that matter, and had very nimble and dexterous hands. Akhet noticed where her eyes were going. He shamelessly watched her head a lot--in the front was her beautiful face of course, with those vibrant brown eyes, that sweet smile, or those adorable little freckles, and on the sides and in back there were curls. Lots of curls. Needless to say, Akhet approved. "you wanna win that one, dontcha?" he smirked at her, pointing at the stuffed animal that had clearly caught his sweetheart's eye...

Minali Tallarico	So he'd caught what she was staring at. Grinning sheepishly, Mina nodded a few times. "S'all... cute an' weird," She told him, gesturing a little to try and show what she meant (and failing miserably), "Ah dunno what kinda critter it's supposed ta be, but... Ah want one." Not that not getting one would break her heart or anything - it was a silly little thing, though, and why not? Moving up to the booth, she pulled a few coppers out of her pocket and laid them across the wooden surface. "Ah'd like t'try, please," Mina spoke to the new gentleman manning the ring toss. It seemed that this Festival was a little more classy than most, because he didn't even try to tell Mina that she'd never be able to do it, or that she should let her husband try instead. He simply took the coins with a smile and passed her three silver rings.

Akhet Sumatra Tallarico	Akhet chuckled. "I dunno about weird... but you're definitely cute." he grinned shamelessly at her. "but yeah... let's try and get you one then..." He'd let her give it a shot first, and he'd give it a shot as well, just because, this game was one that they could both play. Besides... winning a weird little prize from a fun little festival game would be a nice little highlight to the evening before they got dessert and such. Akhet wouldn't have had any hesitation with mouthing off to the guy if he had been an ass, and so was pleasantly contented that he was not. He was lined up behind her, ready to try once she was done, regardless of his success. For the moment though, he watched her, not wanting to distract her either. Besides... he knew those curls would fly (a little; being appropriately limited because of that lovely little ribbon) when she swung her arm. That was always a cute little lovely sight.

Minali Tallarico	It was a good thing that each play had three rings, because Mina's first one hit the side of a bottle with a twang and ricocheted away to the ground. "Shit, sorry!" She cringed, knowing that the man running the booth would have to collect the ring himself. Once she was reassured that it was no big deal, Mina got ready to throw her second. This one was much closer, almost a ringer, but it twirled just a bit too wide and fell to the ground. With another little curse, Mina pouted, fairly certain that she would not win her stuffed panda-duck thing, despite her improvement. Finally, she flicked her wrist just right, and the ring fell straight over the bottle in a perfect ringer. Squealing, Mina jumped up and bounced, completely thrilled. "Ah got it! Ah did it too!" She giggled happily, referring to how Akhet had won his first game, as well.
