Minali Otoyome	Night had long since fallen on Fire Fountain City, necessitating the lighting of the street lamps. Stores had closed their doors for the evening, the blacksmith's bellows had fallen silent, and the square was completely empty. Despite the late hour, a light still flickered in the downstairs basement workroom of a certain toyshop, Toys of the West. Caught in the grip of Invention Fever, Minali was still fiddling with a small rotating mechanism for her new device. While it would be easier to make their mysterious client reload after every shot, using a multiple round cylinder had crossed her mind, and now it was what she wanted the launcher to have, come hell or high water. She was in the process of naming it, as well - it was something with a couple "multi"s in it. In this mood of hers, however, she would likely work herself into exhaustion - truthfully, she was ignoring how tired she was, already. It would take some very skilled persuading to get Minali to give up her project for the night, to get some sleep...

Akhet Sumatra Tallarico	As much as Akhet enjoyed being with his beloved, there were times when she'd get into an inventing craze and shut out the world around her. He couldn't exactly break her out of it (well, not without effort anyways... but usually he only did when it was late or she looked ill or tired anyways), but at the same time, it was not like he sat and idled around while she worked. He was a healer by trade, and so sometimes during the day he'd go out and work at a local apothecary not too far from there. Well, that was what happened this time, except he was later than usual. He came in all ready to apologize and such, and found that Minali was nowhere to be seen. however, he could hear her and so knew just where to go. Yup. Mina had been bit by the inventing bug again, and he could see the fatigue in her face as he tapped her shoulder to get her attention. He knew a lot about signs the body gave off, and Minali was giving off several right now. "Mina... are you okay, love?" He asked it knowing what answer he'd receive, but he was going to be stubborn this time. She needed rest.

Minali Otoyome	Akhet was quite right; Minali had been bitten, quite hard, by the inventing bug. When he tapped her shoulder, she didn't even look up at him properly - she just angled her head slightly, to try and show that she was listening without taking her eyes off what she had been doing. "M'fine, love," She answered predictably, though it was quite clear that she was not. Her eyes were beginning to look a bit red, from squinting at the small, more delicate bits of her device, and her neck was clearly stiff - evidenced by how little she actually moved it. In fact, her entire body seemed to be in much the same condition; as if she hadn't moved more than once or twice since Akhet left to do some work at the apothecary.

Akhet Sumatra Tallarico	Akhet noticed her fatigue and exhaustion. This was not the first time it had happened, and would almost certainly not be the last. However, he couldn't bring himself to get upset with her... instead, he just needed to coax her away from the workshop and into his arms or something cheesily romantic like that. Devising a plan, he crept up behind her and put his arms around her stomach, trying to gently coax her onto her feet. "C'mon sweetheart," he whispered softly, since she was tired enough that it seemed appropriate to stay quiet himself. "let's get some rest... this will all still be here in the morning..." he was also sort of starting to undo Mina's clothes, not out of any of his own desires (but hey. he was also her husband, so he had full rights to do so), but more as if to further affirm that it was, in fact, past Minali's bedtime, and her body was trying to express this whether or not her mind agreed.

Minali Otoyome	Mina was so tired that it would have been difficult for her to resist any of Akhet's methods to get her to go to bed, though her legs were so stiff that they were also resisting her standing up at all. "But - but Ah just..." She began to protest, motioning toward the delicate little rotator piece with her tiny manipulation tools. It was then, however, that she finally looked up at Akhet and noticed just how blurry her vision was, now that she wasn't staring hard at something tiny. Blinking, she set her smallest tools down and pushed her goggles up over her hair, rubbing at her eyes. "What time issit...?" She asked her husband, knowing full well that she'd be surprised by the answer. Mina wasn't stupid - she knew that she'd done it again, but it was so easy for her to forget everything else that was happening around her, when she was so focused on something. Now, of course, she was also feeling the full affect that her rigid sitting position and lack of movement was having on her body - it wasn't fun. She was also famished, since she hadn't even gotten up to eat for lunch or dinner. Yes, Mina knew exactly what she had done... but also exactly how lucky she was to have Akhet here, as well.

Akhet Sumatra Tallarico	Akhet did not even bother trying to counter her protest. Minali knew what she had done, and he knew she knew it. Again, he couldn't really ever get mad at her for it, per se, but he was always concerned when it happened. "It's almost 2." he pointed out, as he gently got her to her feet, but held her, noticing easily how tense and cramped she was. That was definitely not good for her back being leaned over that much. So perhaps if there was one 'good' thing to come of this, Minali would likely be on the receiving end of some massage therapy tonight as he tried to loosen her back up. "Are you hungry, love?" He asked, guiding her up the stairs slowly, his hands gently holding her steady, "or should I help loosen you up first?" He was sort of starting to undress her where she stood--if nothing else, he needed to find out where she was the most tense to help ease it out of her or the poor girl would wake up cramped like mad.

Minali Otoyome	She gratefully held onto Akhet and allowed him to help her up the stairs, knowing that the stiffness in her legs could get her into quite a lot of trouble. "M'starvin'... Ah forgot t'eat dinner," Mina admitted sheepishly, "N' Ah'm sorry, love. Ah know it ain't good, when I get too involved in things, like this..." She really did feel bad, especially because she knew how concerned Akhet was, over her condition. Thankfully, Mina's body was at least loosening a little on its own, now that she was moving. It wouldn't take too much work to massage out the remaining kinks in her back - which was where they mostly where - and her neck.

Akhet Sumatra Tallarico	Minali's admission of skipping dinner did not surprise Akhet, but he did not feel the need to bring it up. There was no reason to make her feel worse than she already did, after all. "It happens, love...I would encourage you to try and be more careful, but everyone makes mistakes. what matters is that you are not in danger... and I can help ease your troubles... y'know. the ol' Akhet treatment." he cracked a grin. 'The Akhet treatment' was no one thing, but generally consisted of Akhet pampering his wife a bit. At this point, it was looking to be a massage, because Akhet had kind of stripped Minali to her boots and underwear (leaving the former on only because Mina was still on her feet) and was looking her over for cramps or tight spots. Most of them seemed to be on her back and neck. "So... let's sit you down..." he sat her at the table, collecting her clothes as he headed to the kitchen, "how's a meta sandwich or two sound?" he offered, "we've got some leftovers in the fridge..." It was late so he admittedly didn't want to cook, but if that was what Mina wanted... he might just up and comply.

Minali Otoyome	At this point, Mina would have eaten just about anything - and she told Akhet so. She was also determined to cause the least amount of additional trouble possible, because she knew that this was extra work for her husband to deal with and she hated doing that to him. It was funny that she hadn't noticed she was undressed until the cool wooden chair was pressed into her thighs, but it also wasn't necessarily surprising. Mina noticed that it usually took her several minutes to become fully aware of her surroundings when she got that far into the inventing groove, so to speak. Once she had noticed, she also stripped off her socks and shoes, wiggling her toes and stretching out her aching calves. "How was yer night?" She asked softly when Akhet reappeared at the table, curious about his work. Though he couldn't always tell her specifics - because of doctor/patient confidentiality and whatnot - her husband was fairly good at painting a general picture of what he'd been doing.

Akhet Sumatra Tallarico	Akhet was glad that Minali was okay with something simple because he honestly didn't want to do too much at this time of night. It was not to say that he wouldn't... but eh. there was no point in worrying about it now, since she was happy. Gently, he began to massage her back as she ate. the dull thud of her boots hitting the floor meant that she had removed them, which was something he would have done if she had not been on her feet at the time. For now, he was squeezing and prodding Mina's back and shoulders, locating kinks and trying to press and knead them out. it might cause Minali to take a sharp breath or maybe even express pain, but it was a necessary motion. "it was good, actually," he nodded, "nothing too unusual to report... and how was yours? you do seem rather... cramped." he was not trying to shift the subject; just trying to see what his sweetheart had to say about her day, as he tried to get those knots out of her muscles.

Minali Otoyome	While there were some noises that she couldn't suppress, Mina tried to be good throughout the massage, realizing that it was basically a necessity. Once the worst of the knots had been worked out, however, it became far more enjoyable rather than painful, and she couldn't help but relax even as she finished her leftovers sandwich. "Ah was tryin' t'finish that launcher thing fer.... fer...." Mina began to answer, but realized that she did not know her customer's name, "Fer that guy who came in, earlier - th'one Ah measured up." That was honestly the best description of him that she could give; she couldn't even remember what sort of underwear he'd been wearing, or if he even stripped down that far.

Akhet Sumatra Tallarico	Whatever noises Minali might have made did not bother Akhet, for they were safely in the confines of their own home. A few of them did amuse him, but he was quiet until he had massaged the kinks out of her body. perhaps later tonight or tomorrow he'd loosen up her arms or legs too, but for now, it was just the back. Akhet nodded. he didn't know the man's name either, and was not too concerned about it. as a healer, he did not usually remember the names of his patients as to not divulge their privacy or whatnot, and so this to him was just similar. "well... how's progress? it seems to be going good if you were up all night, silly..." he chuckled, flicking some of her curls playfully. He sat down beside her. "but it'll still be there tomorrow, you know."

Minali Otoyome	"Well," Mina began to explain, "Ah was doin' real good, but when Ah started testin' it, Ah realized that reloadin' it took a long time, y'know? So Ah figured that makin' a revolvin' chamber that'd hold six 'r so of th'capsules'd be better. That's what Ah'm workin' on, now." Yes, she had almost been finished with the invention before a new idea popped into her head, and she started over, almost entirely. With a sigh, Mina finished the last of her sandwich and leaned back in her seat, letting her legs swing gently under the table. "S'now... Ah'm a bit behind with th'ammunition rounds, but Ah think Ah can at least git one kind fixed up, by th'time that guy comes back fer it."

Akhet Sumatra Tallarico	Akhet cracked a smile. he couldn't exactly blame her for getting so absorbed in her work, so instead he simply listened. Well, and he liked her rambling. It was cute. "well hey... he offered that whole gold bar for this thing, so we're definitely getting our money's worth." Maybe it was a bit steep, but hey, this was a first-time invention they were talking about here, and so had the bar been smaller, he might have asked for more. "well then..." he nodded, happy that she had had at least some success, "all the better then, wouldn't you say? though tonight... it's still bedtime. I don't care how much you've progressed or how close you are, little missy..." he was pretending to be bossy, but didn't actually mean it. Still... he was going to try and ensure that Minali got plenty of rest so that she'd be awake and alert tomorrow.

Minali Otoyome	"Ah have a list've th'materials Ah used, by th'way," Minali mentioned, since she just remembered, herself, "So y'can see how much th'device actually costs. Yer much better at that than Ah am. Ah wouldn't know how much th'gold bar'd even be worth, really." That was another way that Akhet really helped out; managing the more business oriented side of the business. While Mina could generally survive well enough, she likely had been either horribly undercharging or slightly overcharging customers, just based on lack of experience, before he took over. Being called 'little missy' did make her giggle, as it usually did. "Ah know, Ah know... Ah can tell just how tired Ah am, now that Ah've stopped. M'ready t'hit th'sack. Ah'll finish th'cylinder tomorrow, an' try t'get th'ammunition finished, if Ah can. Tomorrow Ah'll set an alarm, though, so Ah stop workin' on time. Howssat sound?"

Akhet Sumatra Tallarico	"I'll take a look at it tomorrow then," he promised, "gauge whether we're over or under, and then be sure to make sure we're getting our money's worth for the parts but also for the time and labor and such." Akhet had no qualms against charging for labor given that... well, it was work. He tried to be reasonable though, which in turn promoted better business, while maintaining profits. He chuckled. "good to know you're exhausted then... don't worry. Akhet will take care of ya. in the meantime... if you're done, let's getcha to bed... and yeah. I do like that alarm idea..." he pulled himself to his feet, ready to carry Minali up to bed so that the two of them could just collapse and fall asleep.

Minali Otoyome	Slowly and carefully, Mina used the tabletop to help lever herself up out of the chair. Though her legs were still a little stiff, she could at least stand on them without falling over, now. Having her boots off definitely helped, of course - having kept that one position for so long had cut off her circulation for longer than generally advisable. "A'right," She nodded, once stable, "S'go... Ah'm ready fer bed." Like Akhet, Mina had put in a full day's work, or longer, and was more than ready to basically fall unconscious until the morning.

Akhet Sumatra Tallarico	Akhet was there to help her to her feet and prevent her from falling over or anything, although once she was off the chair, Akhet put his arms around her. Sure he was tired too, but that didn't mean he couldn't still show a little extra affection for his sweetheart (although at this point it was pretty much just affection. Minali's state of undress didn't even make Akhet react like it usually did). "Alright then..." he grunted slightly as he lifted Mina off her feet and into his arms (bridal style). "let's get you to bed." he leaned over and gave her a kiss. Akhet's tiredness was mostly just from being awake for so long, since healing did not require too much physical activity (though, he did work out a bit before work), so he was not cramped or anything. Carrying Minali to bed, he laid her down gently, stripped to his shorts as well, and crawled in with her, falling asleep almost instantly.

Minali Otoyome	Mina was out like a light almost as soon as she was in Akhet's arms. She did manage to give him a kiss goodnight, once they were both in bed, but that's all that she remembered. The world faded around her and she fell into blissful, sleepy oblivion. The next thing she knew, Mina was awake, her eyes blinking open in the morning sun that shone in through their window. "...Gotta make blinds 'r somethin', fer that," She muttered to herself, rolling over and cuddling up against Akhet.

Akhet Sumatra Tallarico	Akhet was not sure how late he slept in and did not seem too concerned about it. All he knew was that his subconscious was telling him that he was comfortable, and that was all that mattered. He woke up to Minali snuggling into him and to the light shining in on them. He certainly wasn't complaining. As he slowly eased himself out of sleep, he began simply by stroking her hair. he was not in any rush.

Minali Otoyome	Though her eyes weren't yet open, Mina knew exactly when Ahket woke up; she could feel his fingers brushing along her curls. That one small gesture, however, had her irritation all but vanishing in an instant, to be replaced by a soft, contented smile. "'Ey love," she murmured against his neck, "How're y'feelin'?" Maybe it was silly of Mina to ask that - since she was the one who had cramped up all her muscles the day before - but she cared, and so she would ask regardless.

Akhet Sumatra Tallarico	Their gentle caresses were usually the signs they gave each other that they were awake. Frankly, no respectable human being enjoyed the alone notion of waking up, but there were ways to make it bearable, if not sometimes a bit pleasant. This was one of them. "me?" he sighed happily, I'm doing fine. a little tired since I was up all night too, but I'm rested up now. how about you, love?: any cramps you need me to massage out? or do you want me to just massage you anyways?" he stuck his tongue out playfully. He enjoyed massaging his wife, and so if she just wanted one for the sake of the feelgood sensation, he'd be happy to provide.

Minali Otoyome	"A smart woman never passes up a free massage from 'er husband," Mina giggled, scooting back a bit so that she could lay on her stomach, exposing her back for said massage. She was willing to overlook the fact that Akhet stuck his tongue out at her, as well, for the sake of said massage - especially since it was just him playing around, anyway. After a moment, she asked, "What d'you have planned fer today..? Goin' t'th'clinic?" Mina was used to this, of course, but she liked to know the day's schedule in advance. It would also be helpful to know, so that she could set that "stop working" alarm tonight.

Akhet Sumatra Tallarico	Akhet chuckled, undoing Minali's bra so that he could have full access to her back (she could remove it fully or leave it; it was up to her. "and a smart man wouldn't ever pass up the opportunity." he winked back at her. He definitely loved the feel of his sweetheart's skin, and he knew her body so well that he was more than happy to assist in this way. as he began to massage Minali's back and shoulders, he thought about her question. "I might take a trip there after we get that customer squared away," he replied, "I'll arrange the payment and you can finish whatever it was you were doing... but I'm definitely not going to stay there nearly as late tonight." he chuckled. "so I'll be home earlier to catch you if you forget to eat or anything." he teased playfully, although he did hope that she did check herself more this time as she promised. He had no reason to doubt though. Minali has always been a woman of her word.

Minali Otoyome	Relaxing into the massage, Mina nodded at what Akhet told her, about going out that day, and finishing up what she had to, for the launcher. "Ah've almost got it finished..." She mentioned, "Ah hope. Unless it gits finicky, Ah should be able t'finish it by th'time he comes back, tomorrow." Then, after a small pause, "Unless he's one've those types what gits here first thing when we open..." The bit about not eating, however, had Mina shaking her head. "Nuh uh... Ah made a promise, an' Ah'm gonna be usin' th'alarm. Ah don't wanna end up like Ah did last night, again." It was no fun for her, either, when she got all stiff, after all.
