Ferry to Southern Water Tribe

Subject: Ferry to Southern Water Tribe Mon Aug 29, 2011 11:36 pm

As the ferry began moving, Loki made sure to stay out of sight of this Xandra girl. She was merely an interesting subject, and Loki didn't want to make friends. She only got on this boat for entertainment, plus there must be something interesting to steal. Perhaps the captain had a private quarters full of jewels and treasure? Loki would have to check it out.

Sitting in her room, Xandra pinned her short bangs back. She was bored, and she wanted to go exploring. It was nighttime, and she crept out of her cabin, hoping she didn't bump into anything--especially people. Her eyes accustomed to seeing by the moonlight, and she crept farther below decks, into the crew's quarters. She heard yelling and shouting, probably playing a card game and drinking. Sneaking along, she groped around blindly.

Loki was creeping toward the Captain's quarters. She knew he was either not in his room or asleep, and both were fine by her. She floated toward the door, and opened it, the creaking made her grimace, but she finally went into the room. It was dark, but Loki was a creature of the night, and her eyes adjusted quickly. She found a very nice sword, and swiped it from the stand it stood in. She also found some money and took that too. The sword was awkward, and she'd have to find a place to stow it away. She quickly went out of the room, not touching the ground at all.

Xandra kept walking. The corridor must lead somewhere. She saw light up ahead, and walked quickly toward it, when all of a sudden she slammed into someone! She couldn't see, and automatically reached for her full canteen, ready to fight at a second's notice.

Loki floated around the girl, put one hand on her mouth, and a knife at her throat as she said,"Sorry darling, but it looks like you were in the wrong place at the wrong time."

Xandra flung her foot backward, into the girl's knee. It was the same voice from the docks, the one who gave her the ring. She held up her hand, hoping the ruby would catch the light, hoping she'd recognize her. Her canteen had fallen to the floor, and Xandra couldn't bend the water without seeing it. It was one of her flaws in her bending.

And suddenly chaos insued. Torches lit up around them and the captain stood before them. "What are you two doing here!?" Then he noticed the sword Loki had taken and began to throw flames at her. Loki was still on the ground after being kicked. She swung her arm out, and a weak wisp of air came out. It was too forceful, Loki could only airbend subtly and delicately. She closed her eyes, knowing her fate.

Xandra cursed, finding her canteen. She bended the water fiercely at the captain, knocking him back a few feet. She grabbed the girl's arm, and shoved her toward the opposite direction. The captain had recovered and was bending flames at her. She dodged and waeved in between them, until crawling between his legs and hitting the back of his neck with her elbow, knocking him out. Then, she followed after the girl, who she assumed was a little thief.

Loki sprinted, her airbending aiding her in her speed and endurance as she pumped oxygen in herself more than she normally could. As she reached the stairs, she gracefully flew from step to step skipping around 5 each time. As she finally got on deck, she turned her head to see how far she'd made it away from the scene, and in that instant she hit a wall, hitting her head, and falling down. She was so dizzy she couldn't get up, but she was still conscious.

Gasping, Xandra found the thief at the top of the stares, looking dazed. She groaned, and dragged her behind a stack of barrels on deck, hearing commotion from below. She bended water across the floor, then froze it, so they'd slip. As she was waiting, she pulled out a fruit and cut it into slices, giving a few pieces to the thief, and eating some herself. Then, she waited silently.

Loki ate the fruit, but was wondering why in the world this was a good time to eat. "Why are you helping me?" Loki asked. After all she had just tried to kill the girl.

"Because, I help everyone." She glanced at the stolen items, then looked away. She was helping a thief now? This was not what her father had taught her. But when had she ever denied someone help? All she cared about was getting to the Southern Water Tribe. Even if it meant jumping into the ocean and swimming. Of course, it'd be easier if she could bend a bubble around herself, but where would the air come from? It's not like she could ask the airbending thief. She didn't seem like someone you'd want to team up with.

"Okay. I'm not dazed anymore, let's escape." Loki grabbed the girl by the hand, agiley jumped and kicked her way up to one of the sails, and fluidily sliced it off with her knife. She then grabbed four corners of it, and used her airbending to fly her and the other girl away.
