From a young age, Tamiyo has been a commanding figure. As the only child of a large and wealthy family, she found her days alone with nobody but servants for company. As such, she grew used to giving orders to anybody who was with her and, even though she eventually considered them to be friends, she knew that she still had control over their actions, and she loved it.
To the public eye, Tamiyo appears to be a fun-loving woman. She is giggly at times, and is more often than not seen with a smile on her face. She is chatty and sociable, yet not overly so. She blends easily into the background of any high-flying party, but still has to potential to stand out to the right person.
In stark contrast, her life in the underworld is much different. To her underlings, she is seen as a figure of extreme power, imbuing fear into even the strongest willed of her subordinates. She is quick to anger in the face of failure, but also quick to praise any successes. By acting with an iron will and an iron fist, she has ensured that her crime empire has risen to the forefront of the Zulera City Underworld.
Tamiyo is a very intelligent individual. Both her Mother and Father were intelligent, and since her youth she read books and practiced her numbers. She even helped her Father with his accounting jobs, eventually taking over from him when he died. To the public, however, she is not seen as largely intelligent, a scheme which she has been keen to convey to the populace at large in order to hide her criminal activities.
Her personality is like a coin, flipping to and fro as she flits between her two identities – Crime Lord, and a regular, everyday accountant.

Strategy: Tamiyo was an avid reader from a young age, reading through her family’s collection of old and important books. She learned a lot about war from reading the books, as well as the successful running of a business from some of her father’s books. She put these skills into application during her reign as a Crime Lord in Ba Sing Se. Although she made a lot of mistakes at first, she quickly learned to correct her ways and act to the best of her abilities, which were quite considerable.
Accounting: Like her father, Tamiyo is a very talented accountant. She always had an affinity for numbers, stemming from spending time around her father during the earliest years of her life. After her parents’ death, she continued to study mathematical applications as well as financial regulations and activities. While she doesn’t have any kind of formal training in the field, she is widely regarded as amongst the best, and as such still receives a lot of business.
Intelligence: As a young woman, Tamiyo was immersed in her studies. She had no friends in Gaoling after the death of her parents, and as such put all of her time into activities such as reading and studying. She is a shrewd negotiator in both financial and illegal activities, stemming from her understanding of the worth of such services. Whilst living in Ba Sing Se, she was known to frequent the University’s Library, taking out books that were usually covered in dust and not read for generations – the old ones were always her favourite.
Acting: For years in Ba Sing Se, Tamiyo led a double life of accountant and Crime Lord, hiding her true intentions from most everybody. Upon arriving in Zulera City she was more open about her involvement in the underworld, but never gave away her full influence in the world of crime.
Pai-Sho: Tamiyo learned to play Pai-Sho in Ba Sing Se University, and has become something of an expert over the years, developing several of her own strategies which she is intensely proud of.

Tamiyo’s hair is long and blonde, flowing down to below her waist. She doesn’t bother tying it up, letting it react naturally to her day to day activities. It is naturally straight, but it has grown so long that it had begun to curl slightly at the end of the strands.
Her face is an attractive one, with bright blue eyes and a strong set of cheekbones. Her beauty is often commented on by any potential suitors that she meets, and she is complimented often by those that work for her – but it never helps sway her mind.
She has worn a business suit to work since moving to Ba Sing Se, feeling that such activities as hers would have less meaning if she wore a dress. It consists of a very open jacket and a skirt that reaches her knees, as well as a button-up shirt with a wide collar. More often than not, the shirt has the top few buttons undone, displaying a fair portion of her not unattractive breasts.
Her skin is a very pale white, testament to the years she spent inside as a youth. She has had the opportunity since coming of age to develop a tan, but has never desired to do so – to her, her pale skin is a sign of the devotion that she gives to her work, to the hours that she has to spend inside in order to develop her mind.
Her height is around average for that of a woman, but she usually wears heels of several inches, causing her to seem tall compared to a lot of females.

Tamiyo was born in the city of Gaoling in the Earth Kingdom to two parents who were considered amongst the richest in the entire city. Their estate was considerable, and they had a lot of servants and teachers for Tamiyo to be raised by.
Her Father was an accountant, who handled most of the accounts for the entire city. On the side, however, he helped to launder money for a small time crime boss who had threatened to kill the Sawamatsu family. Unfortunately, Tamiyo’s Father was not a brave man, and so submitted to his will almost instantly.
Tamiyo’s Mother was a leading fashion designer in Gaoling, creating her own range of clothing and accessories for the ladies of the Earth Kingdom, from Gaoling to Ba Sing Se.
The family’s intense wealth ended up being their downfall though, as the crime lord for whom Tamiyo’s father worked one day decided that he would rather take the Sawamatsu money than steal his own as a small time crook. He raided the estate with several of his accomplices when Tamiyo was seven, and in a rare display of bravery Tamiyo’s father moved to stop the man, ending up in him being killed. Her Mother also joined the scuffle and was silence, rendering the young girl an orphan in one fell swing.
She was made of stronger stuff however, and when the crime lord approached her he stabbed him straight through the throat with a small butter knife, killing him instantly. With the help of one of her servants, she managed to escape the estate and alert the guards, who moved to the estate en masse, killing the entire gang.
The servant tried to raise the young child, but found that she could not get through to her. She had become desensitized to the world after seeing so much death, and all of the servant’s attempts to get her to change fell on deaf ears.
Fortunately for her, much of her family’s fortune was recovered from the gang, and was held by a benefactor until she would come of age. As such, she lived in the estate with her guardian until her eighteenth birthday, when everything changed.
She was woken on the day by her guardian, who told her that a party had been prepared in her honour. Tamiyo, however, had different ideas. She fired the servant on the spot, and, as the owner of the Sawamatsu fortune, auctioned her family’s estate for such a low price that it would have made her parents faint. With all of her money collected, she moved to Ba Sing Se, ready to continue her life away from the memories of the death in Gaoling.
She set up a small accounting firm in the Middle Ring, servicing clients generally from the Upper Ring and the University. She dropped the name of Sawamatsu, instead taking on the surname Mawas. Her renown grew quickly, until one day somebody came to her with money that needed to be laundered. Thinking upon it for quite a time, she eventually agreed to help the man, but when it came for the handover of the money, Tamiyo killed the man in cold blood, taking the money for her own.
It was then that her life of crime began. She hired people to scour the crime rings for underlings, and even paid to have people freed from prison so that they may enter her service. After only a few months, she had set herself up as the owner of a ring of criminals – she never actively controlled the gang, instead acting through a double so as to conceal her identity.
When the rumours of Zulera City began to surface however, Tamiyo knew that it was there that she would be able to make her true fortune – sure, she was still rich from her inheritance from her family, but she wanted to create her own empire, on her own back. She packed up within the month and moved to the great city, taking with her only a small portion of her gang; the best of the worst, so to speak. Acting differently in the new city, she installed herself as the visible leader of the gang, and forced her subordinates to serve her as their new leader.
She began her operations immediately, gathering information on all of the new arrivals into the city. The city quickly became quite a rough place, and as such Tamiyo began to charge protection money to several of the shops, protecting them from raiding from not only her gang but others as well.
