Isikiro Sherazi Anazalrok

It was worth considering that, depending on how busy Zurok was, that she might have also made a good candidate for domestic assistant, given that she was clearly used to tending to large families, for her 'résumé' had also mentioned that she was a single mother of 7, since the father was always gone. But, Isi wouldn't have known that.

Of course, she was there first thing in the morning, although did look a little upset about something. Not that she was about to vent her anger out on Shi-Hao or anything, but it was more that she was slightly irked about something that had happened that morning.
"Mornin," she began, putting a small smile on her face, "'kin we begin again? 'r's it still too early?" It had motivated her to want to start again as soon as possible though--so hopefully she was not too early.

Shi-Hao Ni Kaihua

Though a little surprised by her friend's abruptness, Shi-Hao nodded. "I have the files set out already," She told the younger woman, reaching over to tap the stack, "Once we finish this, the personnel search should be finished. I sent out the completed request summons this morning." Hopefully good news such as that would cheer Isi up a bit... though obviously the young heiress didn't know what had caused the bad mood.

Unless Isi showed further signs of agitation or perhaps misplaced aggression on the pen she used to take notes, Shi-Hao was fine with them getting to work. For all she knew, her friend simply wanted to get through things now, so that they could start progressing to the next step, or the actual healing.

Isikiro Sherazi Anazalrok

Instead, Isikiro's anger subsided, for it was not at anyone in particular. Okay, it was a little, but it was more her actions rather than her herself. Kyla had fallen again, and Isi hadn't been awake to hear it. Isi herself had slept in, and the other kids were attending school again now (something they were able to do since they now had the money for it), and thus she had been on the ground for a while before Isikiro had gotten up to get her. Normally she was not that bad at this... but it almost seemed that their improving situation was worsening Kyla's mental state because while her children were able to be productive without enslaving themselves, she herself still felt useless. She and Isi had had a long argument about it that had actually escalated to yelling. Isikiro was trying to tell Kyla to pull herself together, and Kyla would have none of it.

Luckily, doing this would help Isi let off steam before she went back and knocked the teeth out of her mother. "a'raht," she nodded, "Ah s'pose we should git started, eh? How wuz y'er mornin?" She had kind of regretted asking that question, because it would inevitably get turned back on her, and she didn't want to explain it much right now. But... it did seem polite, and Isi *did* kind of feel like she had skipped the pleasantries, which seemed a bit rude, especially to someone so helpful to her.
"Ah'm ready when y'ar otherwahz," she added at the end.

Shi-Hao Ni Kaihua

"It's been quiet," Shi-Hao answered with a slight smile, still able to tell that something was off, but unsure if she should address it, or simply let Isi work it out for herself. If it was anything too bad, the young heiress was fairly confident that her friend would bring it up (if she wanted to talk it out). Thus, she decided to simply pick up where they left off, with the files, although mentioning: "We're almost done with these, so we'll be progressing shortly."

Soon enough, after about six or eight more people, they were finished and ready to select the final candidates. "Who were you thinking?" Shi-Hao asked gently, wondering how much of the stress had faded from her friend, in the last half hour or so.

"well 'at's good..." Isikiro nodded. she would boil over within a few minutes if it didn't come up. usually it did not escalate to yelling like it had today, but it still happened now and again. It was just one of many reasons why Isi wanted to help stabilize her mother and get her back on her feet, both literally and mentally. She was crushing herself under the notion that Isikiro could somehow replace her husband, and Isi, having not wanted to let her little family fall apart in the absence of parental figures holding it together, had taken up that mantle, which she still sort of bore to this day.

But either way, she worked with Shi-Hao to narrow down the people to choose for the various tasks that would need to happen so that she could get Kyla Anazalrok's life back together.
"mama..." she stated originally, thinking of earlier, "No, Ah mean... this'un..." she held up the paper of the individual she had wanted to summon and interview for the job. It was an easy mistake though, given that her mother would obviously be on her mind for most of this, given that she was why they were doing all of this in the first place...

Shi-Hao Ni Kaihua

Unable to hold the question back now, despite her best intentions and better judgement, the young heiress just had to ask. "Isi... did something happen, this morning?" Shi-Hao voiced, softly, "I don't mean to intrude, but you seem a little distracted. I'd be happy to listen, if you needed to talk to someone." She hoped that nothing had happened to Kyla, of course, since it seemed to have something to do with her friend's mother.

Of course, she knew that the situation at the small cottage was a delicate one, with things being as they were, but she hoped that being there had improved things. The more she thought about things, the more she wondered if she was forgetting part of the process, or something that they would need for the healing.

Isikiro sighed a little. "aye..." she nodded, "somethin' happened. m'mama fell again..." she went to explain that this sometimes happened and that it helped fuel Kyla's inferiority complex.
"Anyhoo... she starts *bitchin'* at me lahk this is sumhow MAH fault that Ah'm not papa..." she took a deep breath. Normally she might have slammed her fist into something, which could have even caused Shi-Hao's desk to take a nasty dent or even buckle if she had struck it. But, she didn't.

"anyhoo... Ah guess Ah'm jus' so obsessed wit' this cuz she needs to git' her fucken' self t'gether..." she shook her head, "she's stilla 'reck, Shi... feelin' all inferior 'cuz of all th'things Ah do that she thinks she needs t'be doin..."
She explained what she meant, but otherwise, managed to calm down.
"That's... th'gist of it anyhoo... tha's whah this is so important t'me tho... so... thank'ee 'gain, Shi. thank'ee..."

Shi-Hao Ni Kaihua

Ah, now Shi-Hao was fairly certain that a therapist would be required. She'd go through those files a little bit later. "I'm so sorry, Isi..." She murmured, upset that her friend would have to go through something like that, with the person that should have been protecting her from this sort of thing. "Is there anything else that I could do? For the short term?"

The only thing that would fix the situation would, of course, be to mend Kyla's legs, as well as her spirit... but that took time. The young heiress was afraid that her friend would break down now, if something wasn't done.

Isi shook her head softly. "It's fahn... well, it's not... but thanks f'er helpin' me through it..." she paused and mused about Shi-Hao's question, wondering if there was anything that could be done.
"Ah think... well, she don't git much outsahd exposure... Ah guess maybe Ah should take 'er f'er a walk 'r sumthin... Ah think she's just upset... with herself... 'n kinda takes it out on me since Ah kinda took her job... y'know?" she hoped that made sense, at least.

"Ah'll be fahn tho... really... gittin outta th'mines wuz probably th'bes' thing that coulda happened t'me... Ah'll talk with her... maybe Ah kin help smooth things out a bit b'fore th'process. Thanks again, bah th'way... f'er ever'thin..." she gave Shi-Hao another hug. Yes it was quite frustrating that her mother wouldn't listen to reason, but sometimes, a child could be their voice of reason... Isikiro intended to give that a try.

Shi-Hao Ni Kaihua

Though she nodded at Isi's explanation, Shi-Hao really didn't know what to say, to that. The whole thing was just a sad, depressing situation. Both Kyla and Isi herself needed so much help to get through this situation... without her, it was obvious that they never would have gotten this far, and the family would have been ruined. It wasn't her vanity saying that, either.

"You're welcome," Shi-Hao tried to smile slightly, though her brows were still knit together with concern, "I'm happy to help... you know that. If you'd like a day to just be with your mother, you know that you can ask anytime. I'd be willing to go without you, for that."

"Ah maht take y'up on that offer wunna these days," Isikiro smiled a little. "Ah think Ah jus needa sit down with' her 'n 'splain a few things... Ah mean... Ah ain't givin' her a choice in whether 'r not she wants t'get healed... Ah'm jus' gonna do it an' she's gonna hafta deal with it." she seemed very insistent.

"She's a stubborn'un," she added with something of a chuckle, "but... we'll be able'ta make things better... Ah jus' know it. Y'know me, Shi... Ah don't stop sumthin' Ah start 'till it's finished." the level of nearly obsessive determination to see this endeavor through to the end was something that Isikiro would devote every living moment of her time to if she needed to. She was certainly not about to back down.

Shi-Hao Ni Kaihua

Shi-Hao trusted that her friend knew what she was doing. After all, who would know Kyla's limits better than her daughter, at this point? Still, this might be a good time to bring up the therapist option... "Well," She began, softly, "Do you think that it might help your mother really understand your intentions if we had a therapist willing to see her, as well?"

That would be entirely up to Isi, though the young heiress thought that it would be a good idea. Hell, it might be a good idea for her friend, as well as her friend's mother. The relationship that had been forced on her was a bit damaging; that much was easy to see... It was almost heartbreaking.

Isikiro Sherazi Anazalrok

Isikiro thought about this for a moment, genuinely trying to decide if it would be better. A therapist would know how to deal with such broken emotions much better than Isi, who had a few emotional troubles of her own still despite her dramatically improved life.
"Ah... Ah think that'd be good." she decided, "Ah'd def'nitely wanna meet 'em b'fore they met 'er tho... just 'cuz Ah'd hafta tell 'em a bit about how she does things... that sorta thing... Ah mean... Ah dun wanna brag here, but Ah dun' think anyone knows 'er th'way Ah do..." she was simply using this as reasoning. Isikiro was probably the last person that would ever brag about anything ever.

"so ye... let's getta therapist... jus' Ah wanna meet'em 'fore they see m'mama. Y'know... 'cuz mama." Surely that was sound reasoning. Isi had already made it meticulously clear that she wanted everything to be perfect, and so she'd be meeting and greeting the individuals that would be helping her with the healing process, and would do so on a personal level.

Shi-Hao Ni Kaihua

Though her own mother (and father) had passed on several years ago, Shi-Hao had not forgotten how it felt to love one's parents and to want to help them as best was possible. "I understand," She smiled at her friend, resting a hand over Isi's own, "You don't have to try and explain it to me..."

Moving to the file cabinets, the young heiress took a few minutes to gather up all the personnel folders that might help. She kept her back turned during this time, in case Isi needed a few moments to herself - whether to stop any tears, or shed them, or just to pull herself together.

In those few moments, Shi-Hao had gathered about ten folders, and thus she set them down upon the desk with a small smile. "Not too many," She assured the younger girl, "But more than enough to find someone suitable, I think. ...Shall we?" She picked one up and opened it, prepared to read the information aloud, so that Isi could start to choose.

Isikiro Sherazi Anazalrok

Isikiro was usually the type of person who felt the need to explain everything for the sake of no misunderstandings, since some of the others (mostly other miners, some of which were hard of hearing thanks to their line of work), did not exactly decipher her accent correctly on the first try every time. But, she didn't think Shi-Haio's hearing was like that, and so her words also came as a relief to the earthbender simply because that meant less stammering with words. Her lack of charisma was blatant.

Isikiro did take a few deep breaths as Shi-Hao's back was turned, but otherwise, she was thankfully fairly calm and kept a level head. She had definitely calmed down quite a bit over the last few months, which was a significant improvement in her life and for her personality.

Isi glanced at the folders and nodded before sitting down and getting comfortable. "Aye... that'd be good... let's git started." she put on a smile, which was more sincere than it seemed, which was good.

Shi-Hao Ni Kaihua

Though it might actually come as a surprise to many people (particularly those of the socialites who knew the rich girl facade that the young heiress put forth), Shi-Hao was rather good at understanding the accents of the 'poorer populations' of the Earth Kingdom. When traveling, she would also adjust her own speech, to use smaller words, as to not drown those people in too rich a vocabulary. Isi's accent, in her opinion, was quite cute, and she understood Shi-Hao just fine, which was perfect.

Reading the next few folders was quite easy, though it was surprising how many of the contacts resided in Ba Sing Se, particularly at the University. Seems that the number of respected, well-learned psychologists was rather low, at least to the Ni Kaihua Estates, and so they were generally found right in this very city, or far away in the Air Temples. "Well?" Shi-Hao asked with a smile, as she was wont to do, once they were finished, "Does anyone sound good, to you?"

Isikiro Sherazi Anazalrok

While she had not said anything, Isikiro did feel very touched that Shi-Hao had liked her accent. Sometimes that was a rich people thing, to be awed or amused by a poorer person's much thicker accent. Some of them might have had accents of their own that they only hid for their company or whatnot, but poorer people just spoke normally since they didn't have anyone to impress. But in truth, it did flatter Isi a bit that Shi-Hao liked her accent.

Isikiro listened to the list of candidates, and pondered them a few times, sometimes taking the folders to read them herself just to make sure. After a while though, she pulled one out in particular that looked promising. "she looks lahk sumun' Ah'd trust..." she stated, pointing to the file of the individual in question, "Ah think we shud go wit' her..."

Shi-Hao Ni Kaihua

Glancing at the chosen candidate, Shi-Hao gave a nod. "I've never met her before, actually," the young heiress admitted, "But I did know her mentor, who passed away a few years ago, and he was a very good man. I'm sure he taught her well." Smiling at Isi reassuringly, pleased by the choice, Shi-Hao gave a little stretch.

"Now... How about we write out the summons request, and then go have a snack down in the courtyard? Something sweet, and we can relax for now. Okay?" She knew that there was still more for them to do, but it would technically be better to wait for input from their experts, since it involved equipment and facilities. Besides, it was her professional opinion that Isi needed a light day.

"Oh..." Isi did seem slightly less sure after that, and it was very noticable on her face. "well... hopefully he's good then... or Ah'll hafta choose anuther..." she didn't want anyone but the best and most skilled for healing Kyla, since she also knew that the woman could be a stubborn little shit sometimes. Isi didn't want to give the hired individuals more trouble than they were getting paid for, but also didn't want to throw her mother for a loop.

"That... akchally sounds gud..." she nodded slowly. "Ah guess Ah could use'a bit've food now..." she was eating properly, and it was showing by her healthy weight gain and the development of her breasts and hips. She was still mostly a square body shape, but now she actually had some curves to speak of, rather than just being a scrawny little muscled thing. Well, and she trusted Shi-Hao with this sort of thing.

Shi-Hao Ni Kaihua

Thankfully the written requests were very short, and Shi-Hao was able to talk the other young woman through them rather quickly. The main chunk of the information for these people would come after they consented to arrive, as the young heiress had explained once before. "I'll order us a snack," She offered, then, placing the chosen files down on the desk with a smile at Isi.

Once that too was finished, Shi-Hao took hold of her friend's hand. "Can I show you something, while we wait for the cakes?" She asked with a little tilt of her head, looking happy. If Isi accepted, she would bring her back into the main house gardens, to see the fountain and the flowered maze, which was so tall that you couldn't see over it (though Shi-Hao had been running through it and playing since she was a little girl, so she'd never get lost).

Isikiro Sherazi Anazalrok

While Isikiro was very focused on the notion that they would be healing her mother in the upcoming weeks/months, she was also still very attentive, mentally noting this or that as Shi-Hao showed her. After all... if she was going to manage a business and maybe even estates... she had to know how to do this herself one day. Luckily, that day seemed far enough off that there'd be plenty of time to actually do it.

"sounds good..." the coal minder naturally nodded at the idea of snacks. Who could complain about a good snack after some hard work, physical or mental?
"well sure!" she also added after Shi-Hao asked to show her something. "whadja wanna show me?"
Of course, she soon learned. "wha... what's this place? it's... it's amazin'... Ah... Ah... wow..." she was speechless. If she ever owned an estate though... she would want it to have something like this. Isi loved nature and the outdoors. This was no exception.

Shi-Hao Ni Kaihua

"My father built this private garden for my mother, back when they first met," Shi-Hao explained for the benefit of her friend, "He called it his engagement present, and proposed to her in the very center of it, where the fountain stands." Then, with a fond smile, the young heiress brushed her hair back, gazing into the twisting turns of the maze, "I played here all the time, when I was a little girl. I learned each of the paths, and I could find every statue or other surprise inside."

Glancing at Isi, she looked a bit excited, "Want to take a trip through it? I'll even let you lead...~" Shi-Hao would follow, of course, and so if they got too terribly lost, she'd be able to lead them out. Not that it would be too big a problem, she figured. It's not like her friend was much given to panicking. Truth be told, however... she would be the first person that Shi-Hao had ever brought to this place.

Isikiro Sherazi Anazalrok

Isikiro listened with interest, finding that it was a rather sweet and surely sentimental one. She didn't really have anything to compare it to except...
"Mah papa made this ring..." she shrugged, brandishing the ring that she usually wore when not in public (it was sentimental, but it wasn't like Isi was trying to pretend she was married). She smiled, shifting the subject back to Shi though. "Ah betche had fun'in a place lahk this didncha? Bein' able t'know where ever'thin is 'n such..."

"Oh! uhm... sure... hopefully Ah dun' git lost in here, eh?" she chuckled, and so pretty much just chose a path and started walking. She could find her way out of winding mine tunnels fairly easily, and so this shouldn't be too hard. Besides... if Shi-Hao really knew it, then getting out would be a breeze.
"It's really purdy..." she complimented as they walked, wondering if there was any particular reason they were doing it, or just for fun...

Shi-Hao Ni Kaihua

"We won't get lost," She assured her friend, following along behind, "I promise. The path hasn't changed since I was four years old - twenty-two years is a long time to memorize something like this, wouldn't you agree?" Though Shi-Hao didn't play in the maze much, anymore, she did walk the entire thing at least once, every single year, on the anniversary of her parents' deaths. Their graves weren't here, of course, but it was still in their honor.

It was a leisurely little walk, and the young heiress didn't bother dictating directions, even when they hit a dead end. Instead, each time they passed by a statue or particular bunch of flowering plants, she told Isi all about them. "That was a gift from a prominent Fire Nation family," Shi-Hao mentioned as they passed by a strange little abstract carving made of jade, "My father was so spooked by it, for some reason, that he had it moved out here. He never took this path again."

Or, as they passed by a little section of pink blossoming bushes, which were swarming with butterflies, she smiled. "My mother chose these flowers... it took my father two years to get some, since the seedlings kept dying on the way here. He got them all the way from the lands around the Southern Air Temple."

Isikiro Sherazi Anazalrok

Isi couldn't help but crack a chuckle. "Ah reckon so... Ah've been alahve 22 years... so that's older'n me!" she quipped. She wouldn't ever ask it, but she could see her siblings having fun in a place like this--or getting into trouble here. They did have plenty of room to run around and such anyways though, so it wasn't necessarily even an issue.

"huh... that's weird..." Isi admitted about the jade sculpture. On the other hand, as she walked, she pretty much just took random turns at various intervals, backtracking if she hit a dead end. She wondered why there were dead ends at all, and even voiced that curiosity simply in hopes of getting an answer at all. It didn't matter that much though.

Isi's next question was a personal one, but was just genuinely curious, seeing so many ritzy and fancy things that she had never even dreamed of.
"Jus' outta curiosity..." she asked, "Ah hope Ah ain't 'ffendin' y'or nuttin... but... d'y'really make 'nuff money t'... t'be able t'do all this?" she didn't know how else to word it. "Ah'm sorry... Ah... Ah dun wanna soun' rude 'r anythin'... jus... well, y'know mah roots. Ah wuz lucky if Ah had two coppers t'rub t'gether... so seein' so much... so much wealth... Ah still kahnda have trouble wrappin' mah mahnd 'round it..." She was blushing, for the more she thought about it, the more she started thinking how rude and ungrateful her question and remarks sounded.
