Toka is quiet, and prefers that others are quiet. She avoids talking at all, if she can help it. She is usually violent, but has a soft spot for children, and Airbenders, feeling the world has already wronged them enough. Toka has a temper, and will, if she must, chastise other people for recklessness of stupidity. She is one who always enjoys a good game, even if the odds aren't in her favor.

Toka has a tendency to be much more in tune with the world around her, which helps her to empathize with people who need help or a simple ear to listen. She finds she does more helping than hindering, even though her line of work is spying. As mentioned before, she as a soft spot for children, particularly because they’re innocent and ignorant to the ugliness of the world, usually.

Toka has a long fuse, but when she reaches her breaking point, it’s best everyone in the area steer clear. Her attacks are brutally powerful, aimed more at smashing than anything else, not to say she wouldn’t beat someone in a game of Pi Sho, but she honestly prefers straight forward combat.

Toka has a tendency to portray herself as a rough and tough bitch, but she has a softer side rarely seen by others.

Toka can Earthbend and Metalbend. She can fight in close quarters, at least holding her own until help arrives. Toka cannot survive extended hand to hand combat, although her strength is formidable, she is at an obvious disadvantage, unable to detect airborne enemies.. Toka can detect opponents through a type of sonar, each step they take alerts her to their presence, it helps to replace the need for sight. It is generally recommended to never toss Toka anything. Toka is a talented hand-to-hand combatant, much like her Earthbending, she prefers blunt, crushing blows. Though, she also is relatively good at taking advantage of temporary pauses to slip in ulterior attacks. She is usually a practiced standard fighter, lacking in no aspect, but hardly gifted in any either. Her stance varies greatly, ranging from the rigid, properly taught stance of the Dai Li, to the free flowing stance of a self-taught bender.

What Toka lacks in larger, master-level abilities, she makes up for in her ability to launch multiple, quick attacks at a smaller level.

Though Toka is blind, she does not see it as a burden, quite the contrary. She finds herself more sensitive to sound, and touch. She wears simple Earth Kingdom attire, and usually has her hair up in a bun or something similar. Toka has a few scars on her hands from mistakes during her life, but has otherwise flawless skin. When the need for a more proper outfit is needed, she typically dons the clothes of an Earth Kingdom noble, her hair tied up, or left down, brushed neatly.

Her skin is a soft, pale shade, similar to that of weather, sunbaked sand. Her lips have a natural red tint, which is one reason, aside from the fact she doesn’t think it’s necessary, that she wears make up. Her eyes tend to be open wider than usual people, and she tends to have a gentler touch due to her blindness, finding she has no real medium between rough and gentle.

Toka has very little interaction, if any with her parents, and avoids the topic of discussing them due to their constant worrying that their ‘little girl’ can’t handle herself out in the world. Another sore topic for her is her blindness; only when people under estimate her. She will argue, or even fight if someone says it hinders her ability to live her life to the fullest.

Toka was born in Ba Sing Se, given the life of royalty by her parents, they had plans to push her toward leadership, but, when it was discovered she was blind, the changed their plans, and doted on her instead. They gave her anything she wanted, no matter how she acted. She took advantage of their weakness frequently, getting away with large amounts of destruction to public property and frequent fists fights.

Despite the negativity to being raised in that way, Toka grew into a responsible young woman, exceeding her parent's expectations, and undertaking Earthbender training. Her master, who was only known as 'Sir' to her, was merciless. He wasn’t gentle or doting, unlike her parents, he frequently picked on her for some of the most difficult of tasks, and always expected perfect form, balance, and power.

Even though she couldn't see, he didn't expect anything less from her. He actually wanted less from them; he wanted her to be perfect, flawless. He often said she was one of his most promising students, which was, of course, right before he usually hurled rocks at her, but still. Toka enjoyed every bruise, lump, and broken bone she attained while completing her training, and took to the streets right after finishing the training. Her master said nothing to her for years, until, one night, when she was exploring the city's immense underground caverns; he took her aside, and told her he believed she was a candidate to learn a new skill, what he called Metalbending.

Toka tried to suppress her interest, but he refused to speak another word until she agreed to join the class. She found herself in the same area as with her Earthbending, except now, there were metal objects lying about. He managed to explain Metalbending in a way that made it less confusing, but she still had difficulty understanding the concept, however, she excelled. She manipulated metal as easily as she manipulated earth, and it wasn't long before she was released from that class as well.

She signed up with the city's guard for a time, spending her days capturing thieves, and bandits, but her interest in such things soon dimmed, before extinguishing altogether. Toka left the city after that, seeking purpose, and excitement, at the age of 30, she decided to find somewhere exciting to go, to find people to see. She signed up for duties as a Earth Nation spy, and left to find herself new adventures in new places, and if she got to crack a few heads along the way, so be it.

Of course, her travels proved to not be as fun as she’d hoped, mostly it involved a lot of walking. Which, unlike most other people thought, bored her greatly. She frequented taverns to keep up on local and worldly news. One name in particular caught her attention, Lazuki, a pirate hunter, and a successful one at that. Not to mention she was a woman. She actually thought of perhaps, trying to join, simply because she enjoys fighting bandits and criminals, the idea of Laz is actually quite frightening to her, considering she has mechanical body parts.

Her paths, however, took a different turn when she crossed paths with a shattered young woman, suffering from apparent amnesia, having obviously suffered a great deal of pain and strife recently. Though she knew little about her, the core of Toka's being ordered she not abandon her to wander the world alone, and she did what she felt was the right thing to do, taking her under her wing, choosing a life of caring for someone over the life of adventure she though she desired.
