Personality: Jung-Su can be skittish and distrusting around people he doesn't know, although people who get to know him learn that he can be a warm, compassionate boy when he's comfortable with someone. He's very independent, and tends not to rely on others too much, which can come back to bite him sometimes. While he's confident in and proud of his abilities as a sandbender, he can get somewhat embarassed when the subject of his lack of skill with harder materials is brought up.
Abilities: Jung-Su is an Earthbender - or more specifically, a Sandbender. Due to the fluid, shifting nature of sand, Jung-Su's forms remind onlookers more of Waterbending than Earthbending. While he
can control other earthy substances, he's very unaccustomed to it, and his specific style doesn't really have the rooted stances or strong motions required to bend tough materials like rock.
Beyond his bending abilities, Jung-Su is also an accomplished survivalist - you kinda have to be, if you live on your own in a desert. He owns some simple survival gear, as well as a small 'sand boat'. He's not the best pilot in the world, but he can at least go in a straight line okay.
Appearance: At first glance, it's rather obvious that Jung-Su is young, although his precise age is hard to determine, due to the fact that his clothes tend to obscure all of his features. He wears tan coloured, loose clothing, designed to keep him sheltered from the sun and blowing sand, but also designed to breathe so he doesn't overheat.
His outfit consists of a light tan undershirt, which covers his entire torso and his arms. Over that, he wears a darker tan vest, and around his neck is a heavy scarf that usually covers his mouth and nose. Covering his eyes are goggles - unlike standard Sandbender goggles, these ones have tinted glass lenses, which serve to completely obscure his brilliant green eyes. His sandy brown hair is concealed with a hood, pulled down so low that it nearly covers his goggles, too.
On his legs he wears a pair of simple tan pants, with a loose cloth belt tied around his waist, which he uses as a harness to attach some of his survival gear. His hands, lower legs and feet are bound with brown wraps that resemble bandages, although the bottoms of his feet are left bare.
History: Jung-Su was born into a Sandbender tribe in the Si Wong Desert. His particular tribe were very nomadic, moving from place to place very often, so he's rather unsure where he was actually born. ecause of his family's constant travelling, Jung-Su met quite a lot of other people, and learned all sorts of stories about the world. One particular sort of story that gripped him were tales of young benders who travelled the world in order to master their element - something that really spoke to the young Sandbender, who, while not a prodigy, was quite good with sand - but not any good with anything else.
His parents were rather reluctant to let him go off on his own, of course, but he wouldn't take no for an answer. Instead of trying to forbid him, as they realised he'd just run away on his own anyway, his parents decided it would be prudent to give him a sand boat and some basic supplies, with instructions for how to get out of the desert so he can start his journey properly.
This was a few months ago. Jung-Su isn't precisely lost... he just doesn't really know where he is. He's got it in his head that he wants to head North... or maybe South. One of the polar directions, anyway.
