[Fire Nation] The Phoenix Corporation

Information: The Phoenix Corporation is a feared group of mercenaries affiliated with the Fire Nation. The group is led by Yoshi Dainliu, General of the Fire Nation Military. Their goal is simple; protect the Fire Nation against all threats, internal and external. They are completely self-governed, outside is the influence of the Fire Nation. Yoshi holds the title of Commandant.

The members come from all walks of life, from nobles to orphans. However, the recruitment process is strict. Loyalty, Cunning, and a penchant to go above the law to do what is right are favored traits, though many other traits are looked at as well. Additionally, one must have a unique skill, be it a sword style or a branch of Firebending. Every member must be a firebender.

Duties: The Phoenix Corporation is, semantically speaking, a mercenary group, as they are independent from any authority but their own. They are a small task force dedicated to the continued prosperity of the Fire Nation, protecting it from both outside forces and itself; should another dictator rise, like Ozai or Novai, the entire might of their force will be dedicated to eliminating the threat. They are above the influence and authority of any power but their own. They tend to take on missions that are deemed impossible or dangerous for normal military, if the failure of said mission puts the Fire Nation in danger.

Recruitment: Recruits are hand chosen from the best and brightest from all walks of life. They choose those who are loyal and intelligent, who won't hesitate to do what is right, even if it means breaking the law. Strength is a plus, though not necessary. Strength will come in time.

Just being noticed, however, is the first test. The second test is far more dangerous. The Recruit is dumped somewhere, the location different from test to test, and must survive. This test is passed in one of two ways; surviving in the wilderness for a week, or finding ones way back to civilization. However, during this test, the other members of the Phoenix Corps will be attempting injure and stop the Recruit.

The third and final test is that is that of combat. Instead of fighting some no-name grunt, the Recruit will be fighting members of their own Corps.

Joining is difficult, but well worth it. Those of the Phoenix Corps enjoy exotic locales, adventure, almost limitless funds, and as well as equipment and training that can be provided almost no place else.

The commandant is the absolute commander of the Phoenix Corporation. He is in charge of the entire operation.
The Squad Leader actually leads the Phoenix Corps when in the field. He is second in charge.
The Officers are the mediator between the Squad Leader and the rest of the Corps. They enforce the rules and carry out punishment.
Privates are the lowest official rank in the Phoenix Corps. They simply have no authority over anyone else but their Recruits.
Recruits are those who are still in-training. They have been assigned to a mentor, who trains then and teaches them.
