Ahlya was glad to finally make it to the Fire Nation... mainly because she got sea sick rather easily, and she was thankful to finally get off the boat. She looked onward towards the Fire Nation Capitol with a grin on her face feeling accomplished for getting this far. The city was lit up with its fire in the young evening hours giving it a regal appearance. Ahlya couldn't wait to explore the city. With her bag slung over one shoulder, Ahlya made her way down the dock towards the city. She almost felt out of place not wearing red, black, and yellow like most of the other people walking the streets, but she was used to the feeling after going through the Northern Water Tribe a while back.

The earthbender very quickly realized she wasn't in the nicest part of town. Granted, she had seen much worse, but this place was a typical drunken bar scene. She kept calm walking through to make it look like she wasn't a foreigner. She failed almost immediately, she determined, when she heard a group of men up ahead cat call in her direction. They were all leaned up against a building and a light pole looking all tough and mean and vulgar. Ahlya figured it would be best to go around them so she crossed the street before having to reach them.

"Hey, where ya goin'?" one of them called behind her as the mob too crossed the street.

"Come back here!" shouted another.

Ahlya was used to dealing with drunken idiots looking for a 'good time' every time she stopped at some seedy looking bar along the road in the Earth Kingdom. They always got bored if she ignored them for long enough. Evidently, Fire Nation drunks were different from Earth Kingdom drunks and didn't know when to quit. A few had run out in front of her to stop her, and they had her surrounded before too long. The Fire Nation quickly was losing it's warming aesthetic.

"Sorry, guys," said Ahlya as she tried to break free of the huddle, "I'm a little busy so if you don't mind..."

One of the men she tried to pass pushed her back into the circle. "Come on--" he began but was stopped short by Ahlya's upward thrusting palm of her hand coming into contact with his nose. His head went backwards with blood spilling out almost immediately. The injured drunk was left to take care of himself while his buddies became instantly filled with revenge and took a strong hold of both of Ahlya's arms.

Akira Shirogane II

"Unhand the lady, you komodo-rhino-addled simpletons!" Came a sudden, over-masculine command. Though the street had mostly emptied when the mob had first surrounded the Earth Kingdom woman, the ruckus had caught the attention of Akira, the self-appointed Master Swordsman and Firebender, White Knight extraordinaire.

With his katana drawn, he advanced on the group with a dramatic battle-cry, managing to alert them all to his presence at once, making his assault completely useless. Easily sidestepped, Akira wasn't good for much of anything... except a distraction. His flashy little fire sparks were as ineffectual as his swordsmanship, but they caused occasional flinching - out of habit - which left Ahlya time to dispatch the goons in question.

In no time at all, the remainder of the mob was fleeing in fear - though it was fear of the woman, rather than the rich boy with the pompous haircut. Still, Akira made a big show of sheathing his blade and flipping his bangs back into place, managing to look like a total fop in the process.

"You're quite welcome, of course, my lady," He announced graciously, bowing in Ahlya's direction, "Really, there is no need to thank me. It is always my pleasure to come to the rescue of any helpless damsel, such as yourself. No - please - stay your kind words! The act of such a heroic rescue is reward enough for one such as I; Akira, master swordsman!" The saddest part was that his voice was completely sincere... This idiot really believed every word that came out of his mouth.

Ahlya rubbed at her shoulder that ached from when her arms where pulled back rather viciously by one of the drunks. She managed to scare them away with a little earthbending. It was rather shocking when they fled the scene because of that since she was used to dealing with earthbenders or people who were used to seeing earthbending.

Ahlya picked up her bag that had been thrown from her bag when the fight broke out and turned to face her "rescuer." His hair was black and greased back into place to give him the pompous look that matched his persona. He introduced himself as, "Akira, master swordsman!"

"Helpless damsel?" Ahlya repeated as she squinted her eyes at the 'master swordsman.' She pulled out a rag from her pocket to wipe the blood off her right hand. "All you did was delay me from freeing myself. I could be halfway down the street by now, no thanks to you."

Akira Shirogane II

Akira smiled, "Ah, but why should a lady be forced to flee, and possibly hurt herself, when a brave hero - such as I - can appear to defend her honor? Just think of what could have happened as you ran down the street, away from your assailants!" He sounded genuinely upset about the prospect, "You might have fallen and marred your face, or broken a nail."

Yes, the type of women that Akira was used to dealing with would find these things to be the worst possible things that could happen. As such, he assumed the same of all women, making him a bit of a sexist pig.

"Might I escort such a delicate flower to her destination?" He asked 'gallantly', giving a small half-bow and offering Ahlya his arm, "I am Akira Shirogane, the second, and it would be my pleasure to offer you my protection while you visit the Capitol. I could even guide you to a nice tea house, or a very nice dress maker!"

Ahlya

Ahlya's nostrils flared. She grabbed at his extended arm that he planned to escort her with and twisted it around his back like a chicken wing. He writhed and squirmed, but she held him there steady.

"I wouldn't have fled!" she barked at the halfwit. "I would have scared the drunks off a lot sooner if you hadn't come along. And it's not me that's going to have a marred face if you don't get out of mine right now."

With that, Ahlya let go of Akira's arm and shoved him away with her left boot that left a mark on his fancy, expensive looking jacket. Normally, she would have just walked away from the scene, but a guy like this often hightailed it away from her once she got aggressive. So she waited for him to run. If he didn't, she planned on making him

(( OOC: while I would have preferred an attempt at an armlock, rather than an assumed successful attack, I will allow it this time - simply since Akira is a dork and would be trapped regardless. However, there would be no writhing; he considers himself a man of high society. haha ))

Akira Shirogane II

Though the young lady had actually pushed him away, Akira chose to believe that he had let her take his arm, and that it didn't hurt at all, no siree. That pain in his arm was clearly from when he dispatched all of those ruffians all on his own, without any help. Clearly. Offering the violent woman a charismatic grin, the self-proclaimed 'master swordsman' gave a slight bow.

"I meant no offense, my lady," He began, knowing from his experiences that the best way to soothe the savage beast (whether poodle-monkey or human woman) was to agree with her, "Of course you knew that one such as I would have come to your rescue! How silly of me to have thought otherwise." There; he hoped that had done it.

No, Akira was too stupid to run from obvious aggression, as it was so seldom shown to him, because of his family's wealth and station in society.
