Mieko Ruzhang - A rising Firebender

Alright than, I hope I have everything in order. I'll just wait and see what you think of her.

Personality: Strong willed, proud and undisciplined. She is a rebellious rose that is blossoming into a women. Her nature clashes against the culture of the Fire Nation. In secret apart from her outward perception she is fragile from the years of ill acceptance from most others for the way she acts. Many nights she has cried herself to sleep. These conflicting forces feed off each other, slowly driving her to isolation and depression and exacerbating the aggressive nature she has. Humans are creatures of change though, and few ever fail to yield to it.

She has here ways of coping though. Playing music when she’s sad or shooting fire at things when she’s angry and nothing will burn down to badly around her. Not the best thing in the world, but as said, people can change.

She doesn’t take ill liking to someone just based off their past so long as its not to seedy. More off their actions. Not that you’ll be a friend though. Just don’t make her have to take exception with you and you’ll probably get along well enough.

Abilities:Fire Ruzfang bending style: Mieko's own personally tailored style of bending. This style makes use of much more fluid movements unlike the more rigid thrusting of others. It’s served well thus far when trouble has come about and is always in refinement.

She's an excellent player of the flute. Having played since she was a little girl. It is one of her few passions.

Pai Sho. Something old man Qim taught her to play; she is quite the skilled player. Good enough she bets money on it if the others willing. She may lose from time to time, but many are surprised to meet such a young skilled player.

Weaknesses: Psychological issues, depression being the big one. Her travels have helped her with these somewhat. The other being her quickness to reach her tempers limits. And often something finds itself on the receiving end of her temper.

A shorter women standing five foot six. Light red eyes and black hair braided into a pony tail that reaches to the back of her knees. Often wears black makeup around her eyes. Sort of like how the Kyoshi Warriors wear red makeup around theirs. She's naturally thin eyebrows and a slender nose, her cheekbones are high. Her lips are also black from lipstick. Her body is, lithe. Kept so by all the traveling she's been doing.
Her clothing options are rather limited while she's on the road. Not that she doesn't have anything nice to wear though. Mieko has a pair of traveling cloths she usually wears. They're Earth Kingdom make. Green and yellows. The shirt is a robe style, tied up with a cloth as well as buttons. The pants are nothing of interest to speak of. She still has the same boots from when she began her travels, rather ornate Fire Nation knee high style boots. They've held up better than the rest of her equipment, testament to their quality. Her second set of clothing is a more, by comparison. High class set of Fire nation clothing. The a kimono like piece of apparel, red with golden trim. A black embroidered dragon is on the back. She picked it up from a dealer in Ba Sing Se, got a good deal on it to since the dealer wanted it off his hands. Fire Nation clothing doesn't sell to well in other lands.

[b]History:
Zara was raised in a small village in the south east of the Fire Nation's largest island, and was both the youngest and only girl in her large family full of bustling brothers. Her parents had been desperate for a little girl for a long time so they were overjoyed at her birth. At the discovery of her bending talents however, they were over the moon. In the 100-person-only small village she was the only female Firebender. Because of both these facts Zara was spoilt lavishly by her parents, and always received more attention than her brothers. This turned them aggressively jealous of her, and she was often picked on, teased and left out. Amongst all the children of the village she gained a reputation as a freak and was out-casted and ignored. She became fiercely independent as a factor of this. Left mostly to her own devices she spent her time practising the three things she loved most, her bending, music and playing Pai Sho with an old man named Qim, who unlike most of the other villagers, admired her firebrand style. Qim taught her to play the game one day when her mother was in town chatting with other women in a friend’s home. He was outside on the veranda doing whatever old guys do, and asked as she walked by if she'd like to learn the game. This formed a lasting relationship until Qim's death; she played a few matches once a week with him. It was a blow and a half to lose such a good friend when she had so few.

"See the world and be enlightened". Something the old man said weeks before his passing.

Six months past her eighteenth birthday, she left home with her parents blessing to follow Qim's words. She never told her parents it was that reason she wanted to go, but with what she had told them was good enough. Dad cried to see her little flower-blossom go. It was funny, sad, embarrassing all at the same time, just like him. While mother was near the same, she kept composure ten fold better than her father, but it was still emotional.

Mieko saw some of the Fire Nation; she'd never been to far from her home town in all her life so it was interesting and hassling. Remembering the old man’s words, she sailed across the ocean to the Earth Kingdom. A county as vast as an ocean. Here she continued on to explore the world;Ba Sing Se was her initial goal to reach. She funded her trip by doing odd jobs for villages or entertaining folks with her fire skills as she passed through on the way, and gambling in Pai Sho. It was by no means a gold paved path. She was nearly in rags by the time she reached the great walled city, but with hard work and luck she afforded new clothes and stayed some time there, absorbing the culture and knowledge others afforded on her.

Now as for her bending training; she had the village elder who was quite a powerful bender in his own right. He had a patience as long as a river. Mieko was a difficult pupil to teach, often enough impossible. Their training only lasted for a few years when she was young, but the basics were welded into her well enough to stick. As she grew older though and her wild... personality couldn't stand to work on a single move for endless hours a day, week in, week out. She stopped training under him, there was a bit of a dispute about it but what had been done, had been done. Her parents were disappointed in her, and it hung like a rain laden cloud for a long time before it drifted to faded memories. Mieko has since than just taught herself, forming her own style from which to bend. Not the rigid disciplined form the elder used. It was in a way better. It suited a free spirit to do things her own way.

The sun began to lower from its peak position. Mieko had traveled far today. Her feet were telling her that, and her growling belly decided to chime in as well. The great wall of Ba Sing Se towered even in the distance. As much a sight to see it from here, she could only imagine its grand stature for when she'd be in its shadow. The sightseeing needed to be put on hold for a moment though. There was a nice flat topped boulder from which she could enjoy the view as she took a late lunch.
Mieko unslung her pack and leaned it against the rock. Her shoulders thanked her for removing the burden. Unbuttoning the bag she pulled out some of her food stores. A wedge of cheese and a half loaf of bread would suffice for now. A knife was also produced from the pack and with the rather dull but trusty blade she had her quaint meal near ready. Now was the fun part. Mieko set the knife down and brought her hand up above the bread. With a flick of her fingers she produced a constant burning flame. The cheese melted under the heat and she sunk her fangs into the gooey topped bread once it was ready. The heat was no bother for her. She just wanted food in her now. She swallowed down the cheese covered goodness. She glanced up towards the wall. For months she had traveled from the south of the Earth Kingdom. And neither threat of starvation nor a few typhoons had stopped her. Along with a list of other problems that plagued her. She’d nearly made it, and nothing short of a catastrophe could block her from reaching her destination.
