Zhin - Zhin Lyautey Empty
PostSubject: Zhin Lyautey   Zhin - Zhin Lyautey EmptyThu Dec 27, 2012 7:39 pm

I don't really feel like introducing myself, so I'll do it here.

Zhin - Zhin Lyautey 24orgb8

Full Name: Zhin Suzume Lyautey
Gender: Female
Age: 27
Element: None
Birthplace: Fire Fountain City
Position: None
Training:
Hand-to-Hand Combat:
Expert
Martial Arts (Self-defense): Expert

Personality: (word count: 397)
Zhin is clever and cunning; a wily woman of secrets and schemes that devises various methods of getting what she wants. She dreams big, but luckily for everyone else, few, if any, of her objectives involve more than a little self-gain. She does not mind exploiting those that she considers less ignorant than herself, but she holds those of reasonable intelligence in high regard. She is not necessarily sympathetic unless it is either a problem that she can relate to or a problem that she thinks is harsh enough to warrant empathy. Given her origins, she is also very courteous, proper, and polite, knowing many of the ins and outs of the higher classes.
She has a few quirks of her own, such as occasionally talking to herself, and Zhin is an extremely deep thinker, musing about all sorts of things, usually influenced by her surroundings, the people around her, or the subject and/or issue at hand. Occasionally she starts muttering her thoughts, and this often embarrasses her.
Zhin is also a control freak, and she takes pride in the calm she is able to keep when she feels that she is in control of a situation. If she loses control of what happens around her, she will desperately try to hold herself and the situation together, but swift will be the time before which she falls apart.
Her mind is the mind of a strong genius, and it shows through her work. She likes to design and draw things, even if she can’t necessarily bring them into reality. She is an extremely talented artist, and this is perhaps her best method of expression.
While there are a few things in the world that Zhin does not understand, she does not make them publicly known. While she does her best to keep them a secret, at least one of the things on Zhin’s list is love and bonding, and so romantic approaches often stump her. This, however, might be because of her ‘look, don’t touch’ attitude that she often carries. While Zhin might make assumptions about people in her head as she analyzes them, she is not judgmental to the point where she treats them differently should she ever meet them in person. if such an event should occur, she simply continues to analyzes she gains and processes the new information she gains about the person at hand.

Abilities: (word count: 359)
Zhin received some of the best schooling and training in the area, given her family’s affluence. She learned basic academics during her childhood, and was also taught martial arts from an early age. As she grew older, she was also put into other self-defense classes, because she had since shown an express interest in such things. Given that her parents had expected her to be a firebender, they too felt that it was the best they could do for their daughter given her lack of bending skills.
But the lack of bending capabilities never eve fazed Zhin, let alone deterred her. She ambitiously devoured any and all the experience she could in her fields of training, and continues her rigorous athletic lifestyle in that regard well into her adulthood. As such, she is very fit. Her “weakness” is mainly that she is a close-combat fighter, and will charge at her enemy if they are throwing or shooting things at her. Her swift reflexes and lithe jumps make her a dangerous opponent, even if she is far from invincible or even undefeatable.
Zhin’s talents are not limited to her physical side, however. She is a brilliant tactician, analyzing as many opportunities and variables as she can pinpoint, and calculating how this will or will not affect her desired outcome. She is also very smart as to the things of the world, and she has plenty of common sense, something that tends to be so rare that it could be considered a superpower in some regions.
Zhin is also an extremely talented artist, be it with paints, pencils, or whatever medium you throw her way. She enjoys expressing herself through artistry, and will not hesitate to do so. Given that she sees many things as works of art, she decided that even her own body should not be an exception, and so also puts considerable effort into her appearance.
Because of her formal appearance and proper mannerisms and behavior, Zhin is also somewhat attractive, although she only does this because she firmly believes that people should always look their best, and she lives by that rule herself, as would be expected.

Appearance:
Height: 1.73 meters (about 5 feet, 8 inches)
Weight: 62 kilograms (about 136 pounds)
Eyes: Light Green
Hair: Black, wavy; a few inches below her shoulders in length
Skin: Pale
(word count: 282)
Zhin is a tall, fit woman who is rather attractive and can turn a few heads. However, as confident about herself as she is, she does not often show much skin apart from her head and hands. Her body is one of the few things about herself that she does not go about flaunting, though she would have all rights to do so, given her appearance.
She is a modest woman, covering most of her body except her hands and head. Her clothing, usually dark shades of black, brown, or red, is sturdy and durable, while still allowing plenty of movement. She wears a long, dark-red jacket fastened up over a long-sleeved undershirt, dark-brown trousers and a pair of black and dark-gold boots strapped up over her calves and feet. Her hair, which is long and wavy, often flows as she moves her head, and its black tone serves as a striking contrast to her pale skin. On her face is usually some light purple eyeshadow, and some red lipstick, which further brings out both features given their rich colors in contrast to her skin. She has a well-toned, athletic build, though it is not easily detected unless her clothing is removed.
Zhin’s demeanor is often calm, with a gentle smile situated upon her lips, which twist slightly upwards when she does so. She holds herself in a very sophisticated manner, and carries an upright posture. She is the type of woman who always dresses her best, and looks her best, who will settle for nothing less of this type of perfectionism. After all… she is a work of art in her own eyes, and perhaps the eyes of a few others.

NOTES: Faceclaim is Asami Sato (if that is okay)

Weaponry/Gear field omitted. Zhin usually goes unarmed

History: (word count: 606)
Zhin’s life began 27 years ago in the Fire Fountain City. Born as the only child to two powerful (and opulent) firebenders, her parents had had high hopes of her continuing their firebending legacy. When they learned that their daughter could not even produce a spark, they were not about to let the child’s life go to waste. Instead, they set up a different type of training scheme for her, putting her into martial arts and self-defense classes as early as she could remember.
The early start to Zhin’s physical development did not put off her mental or academic development at all. As soon as she was old enough, she was enrolled in one of the finest schools that Fire Nation money could afford to place her into. She quietly excelled in her work, doing what was assigned her, and jumping through the metaphorical hoops in that manner. As her childhood grew to a close, so did Zhin’s basic education, but she was far from ready to stop there. Once again dipping into the family treasury, Zhin set off for the prestigious Ba Sing Se University to learn a few things here and there. Zhin’s education and academic development helped to shape her into the analytical woman that she is today.
Ever since she was young, Zhin was a dreamer; an architect, one might say. Her love of the arts has never diminished, and on her free time she enjoyed to draw designs and images of various things, some of which she would end up building out of whatever she could find lying around. Few of these could even be considered machines, and the few that could be called machines did not really do anything anyways. She did have an impressive little doll collection when she was younger that she had made herself, however.
As she grows older, Zhin has earned a bit of cash on the side from her artistic skills, and as her skills improved, she relied less and less on the family fortune to get her what she wanted. While her family was rich, they were also smart enough to know that giving a child anything she wanted was a recipe for disaster. Thus… they taught her the value of hard work, and of working to get something she wanted. Zhin wanted to look beautiful, so she worked at her appearance till she was content. Zhin wanted to be an architect, so she continued to draw designs and bring some of them to life. Zhin wanted to learn more about people, and so she headed out into the world.
Despite her fighting skills, Zhin retained her manners, and seldom got into fights. Her polite speech and proper mannerisms served her well, but if the situation required her to fight, she would not back down, nor has she ever done so.
Despite the power and popularity of her parents, Zhin has shown little interest in climbing that ladder, or being the center of social attention. She does not mind it, but neither does she revel in it. She would much rather leave a legacy behind, and quietly work behind the scenes in the meantime.
Where is she now? She is most likely on those very sidelines, quietly dong what she has done best, which was stay out of trouble by staying out of the way, working instead from a better vantage point, where she can perch herself comfortably and watch those around her as she analyzes the very world around her. If nothing else, she’s probably in a field of daisies right now, lying on her back and gazing up at the passing clouds.

Zhin

Punctuality was not a strong suit for many people. However, Zhin was not one of these people. Instead, she found herself (somewhat impatiently) awaiting the arrival of a certain client to whom she was making a payment in return for something.
“The hell did he run off to? He had one job; just one lousy job!”
Zhin knew this about the man because she had asked around; she had long since learned what she cared about regarding this fellow. Ironically, his name slipped her mind. Names of people like this were never terribly important, unless Zhin needed to match names with faces, or vice-versa.
She sat down on a bench at the local plaza, crossing her legs, and swinging one of her feet lightly to some unheard beat. She drummed her fingers on her elbow for a moment, and then sat mostly still. She elicited a few gazes from passersby, but few stopped to stare. It was not like she was naked or anything, after all. In fact, quite the opposite: she was fully clothed as she usually was in public.
She watched the various people pass through the plaza: the families dragging their screaming kids along, the merchants shouting out their wares, the rich citizens who carried themselves with the high air that she sometimes did, and the pompous ones who looked down and snubbed the lower-class citizenry.
“’tis a ridiculous notion, after all,” Zhin thought to herself, “money does not make one person better than another any more than being male or female would. There are plenty of brilliant minds who are sadly rather short on cash, and plenty of idiots who have gold falling out their ears. In fact… it’s usually the poor ones that know how to hold themselves in a fight, and anyone who thinks that that does not happen is in need of a good re-education.”
Zhin waited and waited, almost growing impatient. She let nothing show though, and instead appeared only as a calm young woman seated and waiting for someone. After dismissing an honestly curious fellow who came up to ask if she was waiting for someone, her wait was short—her target had arrived.
She uncrossed her legs, standing up, twisting her body slightly to stretch.
“There you are.” She whispered as she stepped up to a man clad in a trenchcoat.
“Hey,” he whispered, “it’s not as easy to get hold of this stuff as you think.”
“You knew what you were doing when you volunteered,” Zhin countered. “I’ve got my part of the deal, now you hold your end.”
She jingled a little bag of gold coins, which she spilled into his hands.
“Now fork it over.” She ordered.
Without even a change of expression, the man reached into his coat, passing Zhin a small black package. Zhin stowed it away, nodding.
“That was not so difficult now, was it?” she quipped, “perhaps your next employer will be a bit more strict on punctuality. I know next time I will pay you a lot less if you make me wait. Think of it as a ‘convenience’ fee of sorts.”
“Okay, =mother=.” The man replied, dripping with so much sarcasm that Zhin could have mopped it up. However, she simply shook her head, rolled her eyes, and then was on her way. She had what she needed.
