Of Earth and Fire [mostly Open, though aiming for Shula]

Meili Mitali Zalika	It had been a long, bloody two years during the war that they had dispatched of Novai in. the Earth Kingdom had been heavily involved of course, and Meili, who was no coward, was also deeply involved. however, once all was said and done, she felt obligated to at least pay a visit to the new Fire Lord. after all, it had been a while, and Meili had returned to the Earth Kingdom while the Fire Nation sorted out its affairs. but, now here she was, in the halls of the Royal Palace, waiting for a meeting with the FireLord. Her unimposing 5'0" figure stood sturdily and patiently as she waited. those who knew her knew that her height was the least of the things to worry about. there was far more of a punch in this woman than vertical stature.

Shula Njoo	As Shula sat at a table in a chair that was far too stiff for her liking, she listened to some of the architects drone on and on about the different reconstruction abilities that they had. Shula just wanted it to be restored the way it had been before--she had tried to say this multiple times, but she was steadfastly cut across. So here she sat, her cheek resting on her fist, her elbow slowly sliding off the side of the table as she exaggerated her want for sleep. Just as she was praying for the sun to come bowling into the Palace to end this, her head servant Run-Li came in. She walked calmly to Shula, her feet rhythmic in their steps, her hands folded neatly in her sleeves. The girl was young, nineteen or twenty. She leaned over and whispered into Shula's ear, so as not to interrupt the eager architects. "My Lady, Queen Meili is here," her soft voice chirped. Shula nodded, then stood immediately. The architects fell silent. "I'm afraid we'll have to continue this later. I have a guest. My apologies," she said quickly, and it was obvious that she was not feeling apologetic in the slightest. She immediately left, Run-Li guiding her to where Meili stood. "Queen Meili," Shula smiled and nodded her head in acknowledgement of Meili's position. "It's been far too long."

Meili Mitali Zalika	Meili returned the respectful nod, tilting her head back slightly to look at Shula. for the most powerful woman in the Earth Kingdom, Meili was much like Chin the conqueror insomuch that she wasn't known for her vertical prowess. however, any thoughts about her lack of strength thanks to her lack of size were easily put to rest. this was a powerful woman that took full=on punches without flinching, and the kind of hardened creature that could knock a man twice her size cold with one move. Meili was a mountain--definitely one of the sturdiest creatures alive. "Fire Lord, it had been too long indeed. I apologize for the tardiness of my appearance. I should have come sooner. however, this time, I have come for a variety of reasons. for one... I wish to coordinate things between our two glorious nations. that..." she paused for a moment, relaxing from her official posture. "...and I'd like to socialize with a friend." she smiled.

Shula Njoo	Shula smiled in turn, and while it seemed a little odd, discarded her Royal kimono easily. She'd had enough practice getting the damned thing on and off; she'd been doing it for years now. Underneath was a white tank-top and a long red skirt. "Let's get out of here then; everyone's driving me insane." she said in response to Meili's expressed wishes to socialize. She never really noticed Meili's height until now; Shula was a good eight inches taller than her friend, but she knew that if she had to, Meili would bust her kneecaps. The thought of having Meili as an adversary was a frightening notion, and Shula made sure to never offend the other woman.

Meili Mitali Zalika	Meili looked unfazed as Shula discarded some clothing. She herself kept her billowing Earth Kingdom robes on, as well as her Dai-Li-esque rock shoes. she nodded up at Shula when she gave her remark. "people tend to have that effect if you're around them long enough." she quipped, "well, most people, especially in royal courts." she fully understood Shula's plight; having been there, done that. it was good to see now though that it was the Fire Lord talking with architects instead of with conspirators, like her predecessor. Meili stood, giving a nod towards her taller acquaintance. "Lead the way." she folded her arms, "you certainly know this place far better than I do."

Shula Njoo	Shula nodded, heading out of the Palace and walking down towards the streets of the Capital. She didn't know where she was going, but anyplace was better than the Palace at the moment.

Meili Mitali Zalika	Meili followed her out of the palace. "Say," she piped up as they walked, "you know of any good place to get some good drinks?" She asked, "or is that not really your thing?" She wasn't sure if Shula even drank, let alone if she was the heavyweight that Meili was in that department. but... she had come here to better get to know Fire Lord Shula, and so that was exactly what she would do. it was a fine day, and a fine day to be with a friend.

Shula Njoo	Shula took a moment to consider; "Hmm....well, there is the Eastern Dragon Pub near here." she said after a moment. She hardly ever drank anything harder than sake, but she supposed that with Meili, it could be okay to maybe try something new. It wasn't like someone would attack the Earth Queen and Fire Lord when they were together, even if they were drunk. Not unless they were extremely stupid.

Meili Mitali Zalika	The Earth Queen smirked. "well then... lead on if you reckon it's a good place." she nodded approvingly, "though I won't challenge you to a drinking contest or anything... no offense or nothin' either... I just happen to drink men twice my size under the table, and wouldn't want to get my dear Fire Lord so horrendously trashed." she let out a hearty chuckle, and followed Shula. "but heck... I'm always up for trouble. just not my own..."

Shula Njoo	As she didn't know much about the place, Shula merely smiled ever so slightly at the first comment of Meili's; her pink lips upturned, revealing her signature dimple, and then she took the lead, her lean body gracefully leading the way down the street. Without the concealing kimono, the swell of her b'reasts and hips were obvious; she carried herself with the careful care and attention that a Geisha would have difficulty matching. Her full skirt hid her tiny feet, encased in tiny red satin ballet slippers, which were an extreme contrast with her height; obviously, her feet had been bound growing up. At the second comment, Shula laughed aloud as well. She usually wasn't one for trouble, but she wasn't one for drinks either. She decided she'd spend the day seeing how "the other half lived". She looked back at her friend with a fond smile on her lips, her white, even teeth gleaming in the afternoon light. "Well, just around this bend now," she said, her voice customarily quiet. As they turned the corner, the Eastern Dragon Pub came into view; the place was rather nice, actually, with white-washed walls outside (it hardly ever rained in the Fire Nation), the roof tiled with red and gold. The sign was hanging by a single chain; someone stood on a ladder, fixing it. She stopped outside of it, cutting a glance across to Meili; she didn't exactly know how this whole thing worked, and would prefer if Meili took the lead from here on out.

Meili Mitali Zalika	Meili was aware of Shula's curves, and simply gave an unseen, approving nod. Meili's stature was much different; while Shula was tall and slender, Meili was short and stocky, built like a mountain. her robes hid her own set of curves, which, despite her stocky stature, she still had plenty of. occasionally she saw Shula's tiny feet from under her dress as she walked, and they were a contrast to Meili's. while she was the shorter of the two, Meili had massive hands and feet for her size, them being the extremities of a powerful earthbending master. Meili nodded as they rounded the bend. soon the place came into view. it wasn't the same sort of crappy place that Meili was used to in the lower ring of Ba Sing Se, but rather like the higher-class establishments in the upper ring. but... a tavern was a tavern. Meili approved. Meili looked up, catching Shula's glance. she interpretted it well. she had had 41 years of interpretting various looks, many of which were sometimes used in code. a conspirator's life was like that, and so she understood body language well. "unfamiliar with it?" she muttered softly so no one else would hear, "then fear not, my dear lady... Queen Meili knows the way." she strode confidently into the building, stopping only when she reached the bar, where she sat down, calmly odering a drink as if she was a regular here.

Shula Njoo	Shula's eyes widened as Meili just walked in, following after with timid steps, although her head was held high as expected. None would guess she was uncomfortable in this situation. She sat down as Meili did, folding her hands in her lap and peeking at the people in the bar under her eyelashes. Most of them had stopped talking and drinking and laughing, staring at the two Royals with open mouths and wide eyes. She then looked at Meili, and when the bartender looked to her for her order, she merely asked for the same as the Queen had wanted. Her fingers lightly tapped each other as her hands rested in her lap, and she kept her gaze averted from those who were still staring.

Meili Mitali Zalika	Meili paused a moment after hearing Shula requesting the same thing she was getting. "You sure about that?" she warned, "the stuff I get could tranquilize a Sky Bison. Granted, I drink a whole crap-ton of it, so maybe that's it..." she shrugged, keeping a regal posture and her voice gentle (well, gentle enough) and polite. She glanced around just to see the flavor of the assorted patrons that were in the place with them, but she didn't make much of it. "so... you much of a drinker at all?" she chuckled. it wasn't much of a conversation to go off of, but it was better than nothing, right?
