Tarek Raiden	Tarek was quite pleased as he left the gates of Ba Sing Se, he had discovered much more than he had expected within the hidden catacombs of Old Ba Sing Se. Among a few rare jewels, some ancient texts and a very ornate dagger, Tarek had also made rubbings of some strange markings he found on one of the walls. He had no idea what these were and would need time to decipher them. Tarek would normally be looking forward to the prospect of unravelling some ancient mystery, but something else was on his mind. As he sold off some of the less valuable items that he found, he overheard two men asking about him around town. They were in Earth Kingdom clothing, but Tarek could tell they were Fire Nation troops. Tarek didn’t have the best relationship with the Fire Nation military, but he wasn’t their enemy. His father was a soldier and he was expected to be one too, he was even asked to join up and even to perform special missions in the Earth Kingdom because of his expertise in exploration and his powerful firebending, but he declined every time. Tarek didn’t know if he misheard the men or if it was a strange coincidence or not, but he decided that it would be best to leave the city as quickly as possible.

Kako Anthropos	This was big. An opportunity such as this one rarely presented itself, there was a man on the loose that was able to get into the 'crystal catacombs'. A complex of tunnels that ran underground the 'impenetrable' city of Ba Sing Se. In other words, a spy's dream. He had no doubt that any number of people would be trying to get their hands on this man, to extract what he knew. Kako had chosen to come to the city himself, he needed Tarek Raiden, and he wasn't going to let any incompetent spies ruin his one chance at this. It was actually quite a risky operation, there was no doubt in Kako's mind that other countries could have heard about this the same way he did. Then, he saw him, Tarek Raiden was heading for the gates, there was no time to inform anyone else, he had to follow the firebender.

Tarek Raiden	Something wasn’t right, Tarek couldn’t see anyone following him, but something still wasn’t right. Those men in the city, he was sure they were looking for him. He ignored it at first, but now it started to worry him. Almost instinctively Tarek turned off the road and made his way into a nearby forest, “I’ll see if anyone follows me into the forest,” he thought to himself, ready to hide and maybe set a trap or two as soon as he cleared the tree line

Kako Anthropos	Kako continued to follow, hoping that he hadn't been noticed. But, it seemed that the game was up. Tarek turned towards the forest, there was no way Kako could follow him without being noticed. There was only one thing for it then. Kako stopped and turned towards Tarek, who was walking away, he shouted. "You might want to take care, you know. That forest's dangerous!" At the same time he knelt down, to tie his shoelaces.

Tarek Raiden	Tarek was pleased that his plan had worked. He turned towards the voice and saw a man about his height and a large scar on his face, who stooped down to tie his shoe. Tarek was surprised at how well the man blended in, after all he didn’t notice him at all. Tarek immediately knew that the man was a professional and thought he could throw the man off trying to convince him that he was going to pick Bacui Berries. Tarek quickly dismissed the thought thinking that this man wouldn’t be easily fooled. “What is it you want?” he questioned in low but not overly aggressive voice.

Kako Anthropos	Kako moved to stand back up. As he did, he moved his hands behind his back, curling them into fists. In a second he was shooting through the air, a trail of fire behind him. As he began to reach Tarek, he eased off on his right side, and put more power into his left, so that he began to turn to the right, he used this momentum to attempt to roundhouse kick Tarek in the face, if it connected, his opponent would surely be incapacitated.

Tarek Raiden	Tarek was initially surprised at the firebender’s ferocity but quickly reacted with a similar move Tarek jumped back unleashing two jets of fire from his palms propelling him away from the attacker. Tarek landed and pulled out his spear in one smooth motion, his eyes now glowing bright orange. Tarek quickly retaliated by spinning his spear and thrusting it towards the ground, this created a literal wall of fire which blasted towards his attacker, as soon as he launched his fiery attack Tarek wound up and threw his spear in the man’s direction hoping that his first attack would catch him off guard.

Kako Anthropos	Kako groaned inside when he saw the spear Why do they always use weapons? He looked at the wall for a moment, judging it's size. After concluding that it was doable, he once again thrust both of his hands downwards, this time moving over the wall of fire, he also noticed Tarek throwing his spear, at least that problem was taken care of. Whilst in the air, he briefly considered using lightning, but rejected the idea after concluding that it would do too much damage, and could harm a passer by. With that in mind, he readied both his hands, and launched a massive fireball at Tarek.

Tarek Raiden	Tarek watched as the man evaded his attacks, he found himself considering using lightning against his foe, but his thoughts were interrupted by the massive fireball heading towards him. Tarek took a deep breath and sidestepped the blast using on hand to deflect the flames, but the blast was more powerful than Tarek realized and it seared his left arm, leaving a bad burn and a completely burnt sleeve. Tarek moved his arms and legs in total unison as he started using one of his own firebending forms. He quickly released three well time blasts from his palms and then a slightly off timed blast from his right foot.

Kako Anthropos	Kako saw the blasts coming, and instead of trying to cancel them out, he simply let himself fall, it was after all, the easiest way to do things. As he fell, he slowed his landing with firebending, angling himself slightly, so that he moved towards Tarek without being too noticeable. Finally dropping to the ground with a small thud. He looked at Tarek, waiting for him to move.

Tarek Raiden	Tarek seized the moment as he saw the man dive to the ground, “he holds up well at a range, let’s see what he can do up close,” he thought to himself as he leapt forwards into the air flipping once and bringing his flaming right leg down like a hammer. The result was a long flame whip originating from his foot being slashed in his opponents direction.

Kako Anthropos	Kako slid to his left, but he was a tad too late. His right arm was caught up, and burned, it wasn't too bad but Kako had a feeling that it would come back to haunt him. Thankfully he could still firebend with it. With that in mind he brought his arm up, and pointed it at Tarek, he continued, grasping his right arm with his left. A second passed, and a small, yet powerful blast of fire shot from his palm, heading towards Tarek.

Tarek Raiden	As soon as his attack landed, Tarek started running towards the man, who had quickly recovered and launched a fire ball directly at Tarek. The attack came faster than Tarek had thought and he only had a split second to react. He quickly lifted his arms and crossed them in front of his face to defend from the attack. Tarek managed to dissipate the fire but the force of the attack sent him flying backwards, “Who is this guy?” he thought himself. He hadn’t fought a firebender this strong before.

Kako Anthropos	Although the fight was a tough one, it seemed that Kako had the upper hand, but only ever so slightly. Tarek was a strong firebender, but he didn't have to endure the same amount of rigorous training that Kako had. The spymaster sunk into a firebending stance. He had a feeling that the warm up was done with. Things were about to get hot.

Tarek Raiden	Tarek’s opponent had experience, and Tarek knew that the fight until now was just the two opponents testing each other, finding out what they were up against. Tarek took a series of deep breaths letting energy well up within his stomach and calming his mind. This man was without a doubt a master, but so was Tarek. Tarek opened his hands up and started doing a series of flowing movements with his hands open (apart from his thumbs and index fingers on each hand which were touching forming a circle on each hand). Tarek looked at his opponent with determination; he knew that his foe would have never seen this before as it was one of Tarek’s own techniques. He quickly brought his hands down with a series of sweeping motions, alternating between his left and right hands. This released a barrage of superheated curved fire blasts, criss-crossing one after another as they headed right at his attacker at very high speeds.

Kako Anthropos	Kako had to move quickly, summoning all his power, he took a breath and brought his hands above his head, he proceeded to slam them down, creating a massive ring of fire, that expanded until it encompassed both Kako and Tarek, simultaneously canceling out the barrage of fire crescents. Kako stood for a moment, panting. There was no getting away now.

Tarek Raiden	Tarek kept moving forward as the man released the large ring of fire, parting a section of it as he leapt through. Tarek saw the man was tired from the last attack and leapt at him with his fists encased in fire. Tarek was adept at hand-to-hand, and although he wasn’t the strongest brawler, he was very quick and precise. He quickly threw a series of quick jabs at the man’s head and suddenly brought a lightning fast knee attack to his opponent’s stomach.

Kako Anthropos	Tarek had made a slight mistake, Kako wasn't just adept at hand to hand combat, he specialized in it. Although he was still fairly worn out from his earlier trick, he still managed to dodge the series of jabs, aside from the first, which caught him off guard. As Tarek launched his knee, Kako sidestepped to the left, and launched a crushing left hook at his opponent, his fist was also encased in fire, and if it hit Kako would open his palm, angle his arm slightly and send a spear of fire towards Tarek's torso.

Tarek Raiden	Tarek was surprised at how well the man evaded his strikes, even avoiding his knee attack. His opponent quickly retaliated with a left hook encased in flames. Tarek spotted the attack out of the corner off his eye and dropped down, spinning his body round and bringing his leg into a wide sweep at the man’s legs. Whatever the man’s reaction would be Tarek readied his next attack. As he finished the sweep attack he quickly leapt straight up with his right fist ready to deliver a powerful uppercut.

Kako Anthropos	Kako saw the sweep coming, and jumped over it. Whilst he was in the air, he brought his arms down, aiming his open palms at Tarek. With that he released a tremendous amount of fire, so much that he was actually propelled into the air. Kako looked down, waiting to see what happened.

Tarek Raiden	As Tarek jumped up preparing for an uppercut he felt tremendous heat coming from above him. He quickly thrust his clenched fist upwards, bending the fire around him while launching powerful jets of flame from his feet and the palm of his free hand. Tarek rocketed up through the flames to find his opponent in the air as well. Acting quickly, Tarek flung his arms from his side so that they crossed each other in front of him, launching two spinning flame discs towards the man. Both discs cut through the air curving towards the man, one slightly slower than the other so that they wouldn't intersect at the same time.

Kako Anthropos	Kako angled his arms once again, pointing them towards the sky, he flew towards Tarek, dodging the disks. Taking advantage of both parties' momentum Kako extended his leg, which was engulfed in flames to deliver a devastating flaming kick.

Tarek Raiden	Tarek span out of the way as Kako sped past, it was easy to manoeuvre out of the way in the air. Tarek quickly landed on the ground, “This is it old man,” he said as his eyes flashed bright orange. He made two large circular motions with his arms, as if he was pulling energy right out of the air. He closed his eyes and inhaled deeply, as sparks began to form around his hands and trailed after them as they finished the circular motion. Tarek stood still for a moment with his fists clenched, energy dancing around body, and then launched a bright flash of deadly lightning at Kako.

Kako Anthropos	Due to his speed, Kako landed a moment before Tarek, and thus was able to regain himself. He saw the lightning roaming around Tarek's body, and anticipated what was going to happen next. "I don't think so." Kako raised his right arm, pointing it at Tarek, he didn't need any complex maneuvers, just his arm. A streak of blue jumped from his elbow to his fingertips, and danced around them for a moment. As Tarek released his attack, so did Kako, and he was actually pushed a few inches back by the sheer force of it.

Tarek Raiden	Tarek and Kako’s lightning collided in mid-flight. A blinding flash and ear-splitting boom immediately ensued, shortly followed by a massive shockwave that knocked Tarek off his feet. He stood up with a bit of a stagger and looked upon the battlefield. The shockwave had left a large crater in the ground and even pushed over some trees in the nearby forest. Apart from that, there were flames scattered everywhere. Tarek dusted himself off and looked at his opponent, giving a lob-sided grin. He had obtained a strange respect for the man and his skill; he hadn’t yet fought anyone stronger. “Tell me something,” he shouted at the man, “What is it you were sent to fetch?” He asked confidently. He wasn’t sure if the man had come to collect something or to kill, but he had a gut feeling and improvised, “If you were sent to get information, I am afraid you are making a terrible first impression on the only man who can decrypt it…” he pulled out a small scroll and held it up for the man to see, “…me.” Tarek smiled, “So, I’m going to let you try again, and I hope for your sake that you get it right this time.” The man’s reaction to Tarek’s statement would let him know if the man was a soldier taking orders or if he was just an assassin sent to kill him.
