Amaji “Ji” Hama Tenkara

Amaji sat in the pub, drink in hand, watching a laughing group of males over in the corner. She kept catching the eye of one, and he was passing her a smile or two. She returned these in kind with her knowing little smirks, dimples in her cheeks making a grand appearance. Her clothing was faded, torn, and smelled of sea salt, but she didn't mind this. Smelled like home. She crossed her legs and leaned back in her chair, downing another shot. The man in the corner, laughing with his drunken companions, gave her a wink and she only smiled again. Honestly, the people she met in the bars of the Earth Kingdom were sometimes more interesting than the pirate clan she called family.

"Oi! Where do you think you're going?!" the bartender shouted as she stood to leave, four shot glasses on her table, not a penny left in payment. She turned to give him a smile, placing a hand on the hilt of her scimitar. "I'm leavin'. Is that a problem?" she said with another smile, knowing the answer. "You have to pay for your drinks!" He stated, and without a second's notice, her scimitar was free of its sheath and at the bartender's neck. She'd been yards away from the barman's counter, the speed with which she moved was truly frightening.

"Come now, can't a girl have a free drink or two?" she said, smug smile still in place, her eyes daring the man to protest. He put his hands up, not moving an inch. "Mm, thought so. Thanks for your generosity, sir." she said with a laugh, her steel making a most favorable sound as it was replaced at her hip.

"I'll wrestle you for it." A silky voice said, and she turned to find the man in the corner standing next to the bar, wearing a smirk unlike her own. "Wrestling? How primitive, but alright. Bending allowed, or no?" she said with a grin. Challenges were always exciting.

"No bending." he said, stripping his shirt off as many of the patrons stood and shoved the tables away, leaving a nice clear area for Amaji to kick some ass in. "I'll fight this one with my shirt on, if you don't mind." she said with a wink, removing her weapons from her person, tossing her canteen on top of them. She gave the bartender a look, and he took the weapons and set them behind the counter.

"Gotta name, stranger? I make it a custom to know the names of those I'm going to beat far too easily," Amaji said with yet another smug smile. The male narrowed his eyes at her. "Jin. Yours?" he answered, and Amaji tipped her head in acknowledgment, motioning him forward, not answering.

He charged at her, and she side-stepped him easily, knowing that if her tomahawk was in her hands, she would've chopped his spine in half with a single motion. He stopped before hitting a table, and she could only smile as he ran at her yet again. With an inward sigh and an eye roll, she side-stepped him again--but was taken aback as he grabbed her while running past.

Her head made a sickening crunch as it hit the floor, her body having been thrown by the man's rather large arms. Her eyes watered for half a second, and then she slipped between his legs as he bent to pick her up. With three simple motions, he went from stooped over to on the floor, Amaji sitting on his stomach easily. Jin seemed to get angry, and rolled over, pinning her under him. Two feet to the face sent him sprawling back, and she was up on her feet yet again, scrambling up onto his back, getting a makeshift piggy back ride.

With a simple pinch of a nerve in the man's neck, Amaji could only smile as the man in the bar went down under her hand. ”Anyone else?” she called with a smug smirk, holding back a chuckle as he stood. Shaking his hand, she could see the glimmer of respect in his eyes. She went up to the bartender, retrieved her stuff, and then walked out without a single word being said.

It was time to finish exploring the Seedy Merchant's Pier.

It wasn't uncommon for Nia's precious Goddess -she often called it her own though she wasn't nearly the captain- to be docked in some odd port or another. Though in her time in the crew this was the first they had ported in Seedy Merchant Pier, so naturally the eternally curious engineer of the Dragonbone Clan couldn't help but to cut corners on some unimportant maintenance so she could explore and observe the new environment. All she'd ever known until a year ago was the Northern Air Temple, and since she'd mostly familiarized herself with The Goddess and its -every- nook and cranny.

To be out and about instead of worrying about hull integrity, or structural support was liberated, but to be honest, for someone so virgin to the world a bar wasn't perhaps the grandest place for a first experience. But the Dragonbone's odd engineer had snuck off with no clue what to do but to follow Amaji, her fellow shipmate who -despite her general bad-arse disposition- was the medical expert in the crew. Nia's hopes of her being a learned woman like herself was most likely what drew her to grow some sympathy for the woman. However, she'd come to know Amaji as a ruffian like the rest of the crew.

Little surprise was found in Amaji getting into a fight, again. Though this time it seemed more tame than the rest-- a wrestling match over drinks instead of an out-and-out brawl. Several moments Nia thought it might turn into a fight and she's have to step in, particularly when she heard Amaji's head crack against the floor, but she fought on and subdued her opponent, victorious. But a skull cracking couldn't possibly be good for one's health.

She followed on Amaji's heels, wading through the crowds, all eyes on her crewman as they exited. The slender-formed woman rarely drew much for the masculine eye, anyways. Especially not with the heavy, pocket-laden jacket with thick dark-green materials that reached down past her knees. Such tended to hide what little curves she had, much less with this her face's beauty was obscured by grime and dirty smudges of oil that dotted her cheeks and nose. She didn't envy the attention, though, only paid her heed to those about her.

"Uhm... Uhh..." She stuttered as she stumbled to keep up with Amaji's brisk pace. "A-are you alright? Your head hit the floor fairly solidly. T-that can't be beneficial for any part of your skull..."

Amaji “Ji” Hama Tenkara

Amaji sauntered out of the bar, torn shirt flapping in the wind, her surprisingly long belt strap flipping against her hip. She slowed down for Nia to catch up, hardly noting that the other woman was there. She found Nia to be smart, but also found that her skills in public were something to be desired. Her questions were funny to Amaji; she had to hold back a laugh, so that Nia wouldn't feel idiotic for asking. Amaji was hardly a considerate person, but she looked after her own. ”I'm fine, Ni. My head is harder than the floor, trust me,” she said with a chuckle, slowing enough to be walking next to Nia.

"Alright. I've tortured you enough with the bars; anything you'd like to do?" Ji asked, not really having any idea of where to go in the Earth Kingdom port-town. She knew of a few dance clubs--she always knew where to find the dance clubs--but thought that Nia wasn't quite...ah, suited for such an adventure. Pulling her light blue bandana off, as her hair was flowing astray yet again, she found a spot or two of blood on the inside. With a shrug, she decided she'd heal herself when they got back to the ship; Zakuza wouldn't be happy that she kept drawing attention to herself. She untied the bandana, put it back over her head, and tied it easily, her bangs out of her face now.

She grabbed her tomahawk as they walked, swinging it around, enjoying the breeze that her swift motions were creating. The sun was hot, and Amaji wished that she'd demanded a drink or two if she won the wrestling match. Ah, well, she thought, tucking Landua (her tomahawk) back into her belt as she waited for whatever Nia would like to do. They had time to kill, one of the benefits of being Zakuza's more favorable members of the Clan.

Amaji slowed her pace for Nia to walk beside her, inwardly she was thankful of this since she was not the type to like rushing so. Once at Amaji's side, she began tinkering with her gauntlets, the ever strange devices that were her only outright weapons aside from her sabatons. How she watched where they were going was some mystery, but one perhaps she couldn't even answer herself. The act distracted her from her crewmate's wound; she knew that any of the crew would deny being anything but fine unless a chunk of them was missing, and predictably Amaji was now doing just that.

It was rare someone asked Nia what she wanted to do, except for the others she was supposed to tell how to fix The Goddess and her many machines, yet now she was asked so casually, and she hesitated on what she really did want to do. "Well... Uhm... Takame and Zakuza like it when I scout out some tech from other ships. Especially those other pirates have salvaged. Or maybe they just like a good fight when they steal something..." She trailed off, noticing the blood in her crewmate's bandana. "Uhm... A-are you sure you're fine? The subcutaneous tissues upon the skull are... Quite vascular... Uhm... Alot of bleeding can happen for a while even from small wounds...."

It was quite like Nia to worry about others often, and it was a natural fact that among the crew she was the least fit to be a pirate. But she kept The Goddess afloat even when it seemed no other could, and that earned her what little respect she had in the Clan. She knew this still wouldn't deter Amaji, and continued walking back towards the docks themselves, still tinkering with her concussive gauntlet.

Amaji “Ji” Hama Tenkara

Amaji noticed Nia's timidness, and laughed. "You have got to loosen up, Ni!" she said, grinning from ear to ear. Nia was playing with her strange little gauntlets; while technology was cool, Amaji preferred a good ol' scimitar in her hands rather than some device. Listening to Nia's idea for a fun time, Amaji snorted. "You wanna scout some tech? We're in the Earth Kingdom; we're in a shipping port full of sailors; there are SO many possibilities for an insanely fun time. And you want to scout tech for Zakuza? Amaji asked, in pure disbelief.

Nia's concerns were....silly to Amaji. In fact, Ji didn't quite understand her crewmate; but, they were both of the Clan; they were family, sharing the same salty sea blood. Ignoring Nia's little concerns, Amaji stopped walking and looked at Nia, who was playing with one of her devices again. "Come on! There has to be SOMETHING you want to do!" Amaji insisted.

OoC: Apologies, Zai. My pirate-y muse is...dead. >_< It's short, forgive me.

Most of the crew often told Nia she was too serious, that she should take it easy. She always passed this off as a difference in considerations, but she really was beginning to wonder if it was otherwise. Still, Amaji scalded Nia's want to do a job instead of fun. Was she being a prude? She didn't really have a comparison, so all she could assume from her ally's reaction was that she indeed was. "I... Uhm..." Her face was flushed in embaracement, and she ducked her head to hide her red cheeks behind her jacket's high collar.

Then Amaji stopped, and Nia did so as well, stopping her toying to look at her crewmate. "Come on! There has to be SOMETHING you want to do!" With this, Ni hid her face once more. She wasn't used to being out and about. Since she could open her eyes, she'd been couped up in one place or another, only ever leaving to scout tech. She didn't really know what having fun really meant, only that she enjoyed technology.

"W-....What should a pirate want to do for fun," she asked, biting her lip meagerly. Despite how weak she seemed most times, the crew knew this was just a social tendency, and many had seen that she could do more than hold her own in a fight, despite her insistence that she hates fighting. But when it came to things most thought average or common, Nia was sadly inexperienced in the world. Such was the sad truth of a child grown in the reclusion of an Air Nomad's care.

"I.. Well.. I haven't enjoyed bars much yet... But... What else do you do for fun? Maybe I could find something I like that you do as well," she asked hopefully.

Amaji “Ji” Hama Tenkara

Ji could only smile at Nia's request. What could the two do together that Nia could possibly enjoy? Obviously, Ji would have to stay away from bars and clubs...perhaps a prank or two? They were, after all, pirates. "I do believe I have just the thing, Ni." she said with a large smile, before heading off, not even waiting for Nia's response. Eventually they came to two large buildings, both run by what seemed to be respectable families--unless you yourself were a pirate. Then, you knew who was what and all of the little disguises.

Amaji whistled a low series of notes, before ending in a higher pitched one. A lizard-parrot came flying down from the left building, screeching. She then waterbended a snack for the creature up into the other building's window, and the lizard-parrot followed. The window then came down with the release of her hold on the water, giving the window a nice wash and shutting it effectively. She could hear things crashing about up there, and a moment later, shouting. Pretty soon both sides were shouting and then the owners of the buildings were stomping towards each other, one holding the rambunctious lizard-parrot, the other a rolling pin.
