Granted. However, this causes an imbalance in the food chain in many areas of the world. Creatures that had been kept in check by big cats now grow in number exponentially. After exhausting their natural food sources, they turn to the only things available in large quantity -- Humans. Now the chief sustenance for many predatory species, humans are steadily wiped out. The animals begin to migrate and eventually make their way onto other continents. In a last ditch effort to defend ourselves, we lay a trap in a major city. The animals are drawn in en mass and we nuke them. However, because they've been eating so many chemicals via their human diet, they've developed a bizarre sort of zombie-ish immunity to death by irradiation and instead mutate into super-beasts. Many seem to evolve thousands of years in a single moment. As a result, massive flying beasts sweep over the world and obliterate mankind. The last human, a Japanese businessman, is killed in December, 2115 A.D. His last words were: "IIE! GOJIRA!"
