Getting Lost or Getting Somewhere? Empty

Hours had passed since the Water Nation began its assault against the Fire Nation at the Western Air Temple. It appeared the Fire Nation's navy was not doing so well on the water. The Water Tribes navy seemed to be crushing the Fire Nation navy easily. It was now time for the Water Nation to prove it's self on foot.

Kanaryu Oshiro

It was very late at night and Kanaryu was very tired. He had been walking and fighting for hours and it was taking its toll on him. they had begun there assault on ground about six or five hours ago. they had successfully broken through the Fire Nations defenses on the beach, they didn't suffer many casualties but they still lost some men which wasn't good news for Kana, he hated losing anyone if he had it his way they would have made it through that beach without suffering one casualty, but sadly things did not work in his favor or anyone's for that matter. He was leading about a team of fifty or forty men along with Kanoei's help. they we're to reach the Western Air Temple as fast as they could so they could help the Air nomads repel the Fire Nation troops attempting to get inside. Everything was going smooth so far the only problem they had was getting through the thick and dense forest which surrounded the temple. It was pretty hard to navigate through and Kanaryu had a feeling that they we're off track. It was getting pretty dark now and it was hard to see what was in front of him, they would not be able to go any further, for now they would rest and wait until morning.

"Alright men... Time to set up camp. We won't be able to make it through this forest while it's this dark. So get some rest your going to need it, as soon as the sun rises we'll be heading out immediately."

The men immediately dropped there gear and started to set up small tents and campfires, they all still wore the battle armor except for the helmets which some chose not to wear at this time. Kanaryu walked over to hill that was a bit in sight. he sat down and sighed in relief and rubbed his legs he was pretty worn out but he probably wouldn't get any rest tonight there was to much to worry about at the moment. He hoped the night would pass fast, he could tell some of the troops we're paranoid, he glared his eyes at one troop as he began to speak out loud.

"What if Fire Nation troops are watching us right now?! If they are then that means they're waiting for us to fall asleep so they can slit our throats!"

The warrior began to speak more and more about how they would all be dead the next morning. Kanaryu decided not to say anything to the man because he knew the others would solve the situation for him, because they didn't like hearing that kind of talk either. He soon stopped talking and worrying and the warrior soon fell asleep along with many others, some stayed up to keep watch. Kanaryu knew he and Kanoei would need to talk about there next step and what else they should do to make sure they successfully made it to the temple.

Kano helped set up camp with the others, but the men mostly insisted that he take his rest. He and Kana were the youngest in the party. How strange that it be them who lead it... Nevertheless, he gave into the demands of his men and retreated to a nearby fallen tree and took a seat, wiping the blood from his face and hands, cleaning his sword. The day had been brutal, but they found a great deal of victory in it. It had come at a high price. He could only hope it was worth it.

The banter in the camp was just about what one would expect it to be. Men concerned that they'd fallen into a trap, soldiers voicing their various accomplishments, enjoying a bit of food and drink and the warmth of a campfire. Smoke was rising all throughout the forest. Theirs wasn't the only camp set that night. There were hundreds, thousands of soldiers from both sides scattered throughout those woods. In his view, it was something of a good sign. It meant that they weren't the only ones that agreed that a little peace and quiet was in order in this fight. He doubted many companies would be looking for a fight when everyone had bedded down. Of course, that didn't mean they could breath easy. Just because most had set up camp didn't mean all had.

Regardless of all that, as the men began to settle down, Kano looked around. Kana was nowhere to be seen. Earlier, he'd spotted the Southern Chief head off in the direction of a nearby hill. He figured it was no good to leave him out by himself at a time like this. He stood and left the camp, heading for the hill. It didn't take long to get there. It wasn't far away, but it provided an excellent view of the night's sky. No sooner had he mounted the crest of the hill did he spot Kana sitting there alone.

"Hey." he said, walking up next to him.

Kanaryu Oshiro

Kanaryu looked over to Kanoei and smiled a bit.

"Just the man i need to see."

He said as he looked around to see if anyone else was nearby although he doubted anyone else was near though. He looked back to Kanoei and waited for him to take his seat. So many things we're on his mind but he decided to stay on the important subject which was getting to the Western Air Temple, they couldn't lose the temple to the Fire Nation, peoples lives we're on the line. Kana feared what the Fire Nation would do to the Airbender's, they'd probably end up all being executed and he couldn't have that to many lives we're already lost already.

"This forest is tricky... I'm not even sure if we're heading in the right direction anymore. We've got to get to the Temple as quickly as possible, if we don't get there in time we will surly lose this battle and if we lose then... Well, you know what they'll do."

Kanaryu said as he looked down at the ground with a depressed look. He truly cared for the air nomads. He remembered when he once called them his enemy and he him self attacked the Southern Air Temple, he truly regretted it and wish he could take it all back but sadly he could not go back in time, if he could he would have kept a lot of stuff from happening.

"I guess we'll get this all sorted out in the morning. Tomorrow we'll..."

Kanaryu cut him self off as he looked behind him. He had though he heard something snap like a twig or branch from a short distance behind him. He rose up quickly and squinted his eyes as he looked into the pitch darkness.

"Someones out there..."

"I know this area fairly well." Kano said as Kanaryu paused, looking down. He was more comfortable standing at the moment so he didn't accept the invitation to sit, but he nodded appreciatively at it nonetheless. "We're not far from the temple's entrance. But it'll be hard climbing the mountain stairs with enemies on our tails. Still, I'd say we'll be able to get there before sun-up if we take an hour or two to rest and then get a move on again."

He nodded at Kana's comment about the morning and looked around with him as he paused again. There was, indeed, someone coming. Many someones, in fact. He was just allowing himself to hold out hope that the figures moving in the darkness were the men under one of the other field commanders when a massive burst of fire dashed the daring thought.

"ATTACK!" he called, drawing his blade and rushing down the hill. The men in the camp were shaken from their slumber instantly at the sound of his voice. He pushed his legs hard to reach the camp in time. If they had no voice to lead them, the soldiers wouldn't be able to help but fall into disarray. He wasn't even back into the tree line before he heard the sounds of battle below. He didn't check to make sure Kana was keeping up with him. If he was half the person he thought he was, he'd be right on his tail...

Kanaryu Oshiro

As soon as the fist attack was dealt Kanaryu immediately used the water from the grass and plants below him. He swung his hand sideways in front of him sending out a line of water, it was traveling so fast it was bound to cut everything it touched. He looked around quickly looking for Kano but it seemed he had darted off as soon as he could, the other men we're rushing towards the hill as fast as they could with there weapons drawn and ready to attack. He spotted Kano off in the distance. He started to take off as fast he could after Kano he'd catch up soon enough.

"Hold on!"

He yelled out to Kano who was ahead of him. He wasn't sure what Kano was doing, was he abandoning the men? He didn't want to think about that and for what reason would he be doing that anyways? He'd get his answer soon enough.
