Kei	Once again, Kei was on the run and was swerving through the streets of Ba Sing Se, dodging random objects and pedistrians. Behind him, 4 angry men armed with metal bats were chasing him. "Come back here you fucker!" One of them called out. "Don't think you can outrun the Tunnel Snakes*!" Another screamed. "I told you guys already, I don't want to sign up for your newspaper subscription!" Kei yelled back as he continued running. "Don't pretend like you don't know why we are chasing you, you crossed our boss, now you must pay up one way or another." What happened roughly half an hour ago was that Kei was busy gambling in the local casino, hoping that he would finally strike gold and win more money than he would know what to do with it. Unfortunately, he ended up betting more money than he did and the person he lost to was the boss of the Mafia gang 'Tunnel Snakes'. As a result, Kei ran for it and caused the members to begin chasing him in order to catch him and force him to pay up one way or another. Kei continued running through the streets when he saw a large man, with tribal tattoos going up his right forearm. Hoping that the man would do something about the Tunnel Snake gang members chasing him, Kei called for his help. "Oi!" Kei called out to the man, "These gang members are definitely trying to mug me right now, please, get them to stop!" Kei turned around to see the gang members were closing in on him.

Abasi Khuchtei	Being a member of the Dai Li meant that Abasi was almost always busy. The days where he did have some free time however, he did his best to make the most of it. He was currently headed to his favorite restaurant. He'd stumbled upon it a few months ago, and upon tasting their assortment of dumpling-based dishes, he was hooked. After getting a bite to eat, Abasi planned on heading to the local game house to get in a few games of Pai Sho. After that, he wasn't sure what he'd do. The sound of clustered footsteps and shouting caught Abasi's attention, prompting him to look around for the source of the commotion. His brow furrowed in annoyance when he saw the man in the trench-coat and the armed men that pursued him. A bunch of no-good delinquents harassing citizens in his city? This kind of behavior wouldn't be tolerated. Now, while some of his constituents considered themselves above "normal" police work, Abasi was happy to. In fact, he felt that he was obligated to stop crime regardless of its level of severity. The brolic man planted himself between Kei and the four gangsters with speed not normally seen with people of his size. When he raised his hand toward the sky, four chunks of rock shot up from the road and latched onto their ankles. He then molded the rocks into large cuffs that fit snuggly around the gangsters' ankles. A delighted smile spread across his face when they slammed face-first into the ground. With the pests now taken care of, Abasi turned his attention to Kei. Any sign of joy or playfulness in his face had vanished as he walked over. He was completely serious. "Seems like you've got yourself into some trouble." he spoke, "Who are these guys? And what'd you do to get them so heated?" It was needless to say that Abasi expected the truth. It would make his job so much easier.

Anyways, there is nothing honest about gambling in the first place, so quit trying to say I was cheating." "You were definitely cheating! Don't act like a saint!" Yelled the same gang member which then turned to Abasi to say, "Why the hell did you even constrain us with your Earth Bending?! We did nothing wrong yet! Let us out so we can beat the shit out of the guy, that'll give you a reason to detain us!"

Abasi Khuchtei	He quirked a bushy brow when one of the gangsters barged into the conversation. This isn't good. At least, not for the man he'd just saved. Although he'd graduated from the position of ordinary law enforcement, he still kept himself up to speed on the pettier crimes of the city. The Tunnel Snakes were one of two groups that broke away from a much larger crime organization. They kept a tight monopoly on Ba Sing Se's casinos, and they were often ruthless in exerting their will. Abasi averted his gaze from the mafiosos, running his hand against his smooth scalp. With a heavy sigh, he spoke: "I'm not very fond of liars, and it seems that you've already lied to me once. . .I wouldn't do it again. Now, how much money do you owe them?"

Kei	"Oi, too accuse me of lying even though we've just met," Kei said back to Abasi, "That's a bit harsh. Really, how do you expect to make friends if you have such trust issues?" "That fucker is lying!" Yelled one of the gang members, "He owes our boss 500 yuans!" "Shut up!" Kei snapped at the gang member, "I have no idea what you're talking about." Kei turned back around to Abasi and asked, "Seriously though, are you going to arrest these guys? You know, for causing a ruckus in public?" The gang members heard Kei and began yelling at him, and Kei continued to snap back at them, soon creating a loud commotion in the streets that soon caused a crowd to gather around them.

Abasi Khuchtei	Abasi wasn't the least bit concerned with making friends. He only cared about doing his job. Well, technically this wasn't even his job, but it used to be. It was all semantics anyway. The back-and-forward shouting was starting to get on his nerves. To make matters worse, their bickering was making a scene. "Will all of you just shut your mouths?!" His voice boomed throughout the crowded street, causing a much needed silence to fall over them. Now that he'd shut them up, Abasi hurried over two the gangsters and bound their hands behind their backs with the metal from his beaded necklace. Pulling them to their feet with the chain connecting their cuffs, he led them over to Kei. "We're going back to that casino, and we're going to clear this up." he spoke with the sternness that only a seasoned officer could back.

Kei	"Isn't that a bit uneccesary?" Kei asked, then lied "I mean, I don't like going to casinos, I heard they are full of corruption and stuff, you know, things that are bad for the heart.?" "He's lying again!" One of the gang members pointed, "He was just there 30 minutes ago!" Kei replied, "Dude, there is no way. You probably have me confused with someone else." "How would I confuse you with someone else! No one even dresses close to how you dress! I mean, who wears trench coats to a Casino?! Only posers!" The gang member replied, remarking on Kei's outfit, then spoke to Abasi, "Officer, you should arrest this man for refusing to comply!"

Abasi Khuchtei	Abasi molded a slab of earth--one for each of the mafiosos--into a ring with a small latch,. He fit the rings snuggly around the gangsters' mouths and lowered the latch to lock it with an audible click. He looked to Kei, who was starting to get on his nerves just as much as these thugs were. "Keep it up and you're going to end up just like them." He shoved him forward. "This is why you don't gamble. You get a taste of a little cash and you get in over your head. Next thing you know you've wagered something you'd have no way to pay off." "Or you end up with a hit on you." He hoped his lecture was enough to get through to him. If not that, then maybe the three goons assigned to maim, or perhaps kill him, was enough of an incentive. "What's your name, anyway?"

Kei	Kei could tell that there wasn't really any peaceful way out of what Abasi was trying to do, so Kei decided it would be best if he goes with him in order to stay out of even more trouble. "Fiiiine." Kei sighed, obviously a bit upset at having to go with Officer to the casino. Hopefully he would prevent anything violent from happening towards Kei. "The name is Kei," Kei told Abasi, than added, "Though it's not like you would need it or anything. I really am a good citizen and I don't deserved to be arrested." Saying this only caused the cuffed gang members to angry which broke out into an argument as they made their way to the casino. --------------------------------------------------------- Upon arriving at the casino, two thug-looking men identified the gang members Abasi had cuffed and Kei who had recently angered the gang's boss. Both of the thugs drew their swords and looked at Abasi who appeared to be leading the group at the moment. "What do you think you're doing?" One of the thugs asked threateningly.

Abasi Khuchtei	He didn't bother sharing his name with the man. "You needn't worry about being arrested, Kei." he assured him, "You haven't done anything worthy of being taken into custody. . .yet." He let the words linger. Even though he was taking time out of his day to help this stranger, that didn't mean he would hesitate in giving him the same treatment that the goons had received. It didn't matter who they were, or what status they held; he made no exceptions when acting as the hand of justice. Abasi kept a firm grip on the makeshift leashes that bound the gangsters. He never broke eye contact with the two thugs guarding the entrance of the casino. "I'm here to clear the debt of my friend here." he intoned. A weighty, calloused hand came smacking down on Kei's shoulder when he addressed him, a good deal of force added to the pat in a show of passive-aggression. His expression was unflinching, the ideal poker face. He knew that if he showed even the slightest sign of weakness while the gangsters stared him down that they'd never take him serious. "Your boys here were chasing him through the streets looking to collect, I presume under the orders of your boss." he continued. "Where is he, anyway? I suggest you bring him out here, I don't have all day."

Kei	The thugs looked at each other than nodded. "Come with us." One of them said. The Thugs led Abasi, Kei, and the two cuffed gangsters into the casino. A thin haze fogged the dimly lit building. The air smelled of cigarettes. The The group passed by a variety of Slot Machines, Pachinko Machines, and many different tables for things such as Blackjack or Roulette. There was a wide variety of random people at some of these different attractions, busy away at losing all of their money. The Thugs led the group into a room in the back. Upon entering the room, it would be seen that it was not too large of a room. A table with two couches on either side of it dominated a majority of the room. On the couch on the farside of the room, sat an elderly looking man. Well, facially, he seemed elderly, but he was extremely buff. His hair was white, long, and pulled back in a pony tail. He had a nicely trimmed beard as well. On either side of the elderly man, sat two girls who seemed to be comforting the man. Behind the couch the elderly man was sitting on, four more gangsters armed with crossbows stood, watching carefully the new arrivals in the room. One of the thugs who led Abasi and Kei to the room walked up to the elderly man and whispered something in his ear. Even though it was never actually stated, it was quite clear that the elderly man was indeed the Boss of the Tunnel Snakes. "Please, take a seat." The Boss spoke motioning for Abasi and Kei to sit on the couch across from him. Having no other choice, Kei sat down, hoping that Abasi wouldn't leave him alone in this. The boss grinned when he looked at Kei and said, "Well, I see you've returned. What a surprise." Kei replied, glancing back at Abasi "It was a bit against my will you see, a third party kind of stepped in and forced me to come back." "Interesting." The Boss said, than looking at Abasi, he said, "I see you've caught both this trouble maker," motioning towards Kei, "And a couple of my lost puppies." Motioning at the cuffed gangsters who looked like they were in a lot of shame. "I must ask, Officer," The Boss continued, "Why exactly have you stepped into this personal ordeal?" The Boss then chuckled, "Surely you don't intend to arrest me do you?"

Abasi Khuchtei	Abasi carefully examined the casino's interior as the thugs escorted them. It wasn't the quietest joint, certainly not a place where he'd enjoy spending his time. All around them, those people eager to hit jackpot clung to the slot machines and other devices that lit up and chimed with all kinds of beeps and dings. No wonder they were so enthralled, the entire thing was set up to capture their interest. It honestly made him sick to his stomach. If it were up to him, casinos and any other business that made a living off of exploiting the weaknesses of others wouldn't exist. Focus, you can dwell on your personal distastes later. he thought, shaking his head as if to dismiss the stray thoughts that'd popped into his head. He took note of the gangsters scattered throughout the main room of the casino. They did their best to make it seem like they weren't watching them, but they weren't very good at it. When they stepped into the room, his eyes fell upon the decrepit fellow sitting on the couch near the center of the room. Well that's not strange at all. He wondered how the man had managed to keep such a shredded physique in his old age. Probably some type of performance enhancer. He obliged his offer by taking a seat next to Kei. "I'm not very fond of seeing people getting their asses kicked with bats on a busy street." he replied, a bit of a sting to his words. "Let's cut the small talk. If I were going to arrest you, I wouldn't waste time playing along with this cliche mob boss act." "I came here to clear his debt, so how much money does he owe you?"

Kei	"Oh?" The boss asked curiosly, intrigued at the reason why Abasi had come to his lair, "I didn't realize officers get paid so well that paying the debts of civilians is no big deal." Kei was also unsure of why Abasi had decided to pay his debt. Perhaps Earth Kingdom Officer was just feeling really kind? "Well," The Boss continued and said with a grin, "His original debt was 500 Yuons*, but because I like what you're doing, 250."
