Personality: Mei Lien is friendly, fun loving, curious and sweet.
She has her flaws like laziness and easily distracted until someone brings her attention back and that can interfere with her training. She likes ballroom dancing, strategy games and jewelry. Her deepest secret is she’s terrified of spiders. Her hobbies include calligraphy and swimming. Mei Lien’s greatest desire is exploring new places, learn new things and have children. She also desperately craves to learn the history of her family’s ancestry, knowing she’s an airbender when 180 years, the Air Nomads then were all but killed in the infamous genocide.

Abilities: Beginner Airbender: able to form air blasts, slices of air, and having trouble balancing on the Air Scooter, form a dome of air to stop herself if she fell from a high distance, ascend and descent herself gently from the ground, and can form small twisters as defense or throw small objects.

Hand to hand combat: She get behind her opponent and follow them so they can’t find her. Her staff acts as a block in combat, spinning it to divert attacks and swishing it to airbend slices of air. Her flexible body allows her dodge various kicks and punches even without bending, balancing on sturdy, thin objects like wooden beams and her agility allows her to be quicker than older opponents in a chase.

Glider Flight: She maintains adequate flight for long periods of time, perform loops, figure eight’s, dodging airborne projectiles, spinning in mid-air and banking to the glider to turn. She is not able to perform more advanced Expert level techniques with the glider yet.

Character Description: Mei Lien has her earthy dark brown hair parted in the back of her head by an orange bead, her short bangs part to left and touch her forehead, her long locks drape behind her neck down to the nape of her neck. Her body shape is thin and skinny, but healthy for an airbender, her flexible arms and legs aid her bending and light body weight allows to shift herself when flying.

Her Air Nomad clothing consists of autumn orange robes covering her top with a slit up the middle exposing only her golden yellow robe collar, arms and torso. The arms have slit ends on the sleeves with an autumn orange ring around the wrists. An autumn orange belt enclosed her waist above her golden yellow knee length skirt, underneath is tree bark brown legging pants and boots that meet just under her knees.

History: Born in the Eastern Air Temple, her parents remain unknown since the Air Nuns of the Temple raised her. Her airbending abilities manifested by the age of 6 and under the tutelage of the Air Nun council, she trained in her bending. Given her staff by 10 years old and after many failed trials, she balanced her bending to fly. Once she was able to fly well enough, she decided to challenge herself and try the thirty-six trials to master airbending by the time she was 16. At that age, she hoped to be old enough to leave the temple and travel the world, thus satisfying her crave to learn who she is.

She did wonder for years where and who her parents were, on top of knowing the Air Nomad culture was nearly completely wiped out after Sozin’s Comet 180 years ago. Knowing Avatar Aang was supposed to be the last airbender when she asked her Air Nuns and she’s not related to him…then how is she an airbender and who was it that survived the darkest tradegy in her culture’s history?

That question, she hopes to answer when the time is right.
