Tarek Raiden

Once again Tarek Raiden was swamped with work. He sat at his desk, in the Fire Nation Royal Palace, surrounded by stacks of files and paper. It was the part of his job that he hated the most, although he never shirked his duties. He took a deep breath before reaching for the closest file and opening it out in front of him. He had scarcely begun reading it, when a knock came from his door. With a sigh he closed the file and looked up at the door. “Am I ever going to get any work done?!” he thought to himself. “Come in!” he said in a half frustrated voice.

His assistant walked in, a young and very officially dressed young lady, with a troubled look on her face. “I…I am sorry to bother you sir, but I have some…troubling news…” she said nervously as she gave him a small, respectful bow before standing to attention.

Tarek sat back in his chair and took a deep breath. “Aki, how many times must I tell you, relax! I am not worried about all that formal pomp and procedure.” He said kindly. Aki seemed to relax a little and nodded. “Good,” Tarek smiled, “now what is it?”

“Well sir, it’s about that exhibition team that you funded to perform that archaeological dig.” She began.

“They aren’t getting more money! I made do in the field with half of what they got!” he said flatly.

“No Sir, It’s not that I’m afraid…they are dead…” she said softly.

“Dead?” Tarek asked in an unbelieving tone and with a frown, “What happened? Who killed them?”

“That’s…the problem sir…” she said with a worried tone, fiddling her hands and shifting her feet around nervously.

“What is? What happened, Aki? Who was responsible?”

She gulped. “Mr. Anthropos, Sir…” she answered.

Tarek stood to his feet. “What!?” he asked loudly with a confused look on his face, “Kako!? Are you sure? That’s a pretty big claim?”

Aki nodded quickly in response and was startled as Tarek slammed a fist into the desk. “What the hell was he thinking?!” he snapped. He had to force himself to close his eyes, breathe and calm himself down. “Where is Mr. Anthropos now?”

“I-in his office I think…” she answered quickly.

Without a word, Tarek stormed past her and made his way down the passage towards the spymaster’s office, he needed to have a serious chat with his old friend.

Kako Anthropos

Kako had been brooding on an unfortunate fact for a day or so. He'd recently received reports that the Fire Nation's secret information stores were being dug up by a group of archaeologists. Being the type of guy he was, Kako went there personally in an attempt to remove them, but found that they refused to budge. As it happened, he simply had to kill them. After investigating the victims for clues he found a half burnt letter, most of the words were unreadable, but the name of their employer was extremely clear. It was Tarek Raiden.

Of course, Kako had been thinking about the situation for a matter of days, eventually concluding that Tarek had to be working for another nation. Of course, there was not nearly enough conclusive evidence to prove it, so he couldn't go to the Fire Lord. In short, he'd decided to wait Tarek's hidden laboratory that could be accessed via a secret door in both his office and Tarek's quarters within the palace. (For in case he got kicked out of his mansion and needed somewhere to stay) He'd deliberately left the secret door in his office open, so that if Tarek came over for a chat, which he often did, he'd follow it downwards, underground and into the mountain. Kako was planning on confronting Tarek. So, sat on a small chair, and on a small island surrounded by lava, he waited.

Tarek Raiden

Tarek walked into Kako’s office, his face eerily calm. After all, his ultimate weakness in bending was anger, and he became less powerful the angrier he became. He had learned over the years, to shut down his anger, close it off; he was now just deadly serious.

He immediately noticed that Kako wasn’t there and that the door was open to his laboratory. Tarek immediately walked in, not even bothering to close the door. He had no idea what Kako was up to, but he was going to find out, one way or another. Even though Kako was his best friend, Tarek couldn’t stand idly by when the men he paid, some of which were also close friends to Tarek, were murdered by the Spymaster, for excavating near some old ruins. They were not criminals or spies, and Tarek needed answers.

He found Kako sitting in the middle of the island on a small chair, waiting for Tarek it seemed. This made Tarek become very suspicious all of a sudden. He glared at Kako with an unnervingly serene and very serious face. “Kako,” he said in a solemn voice, “We need to talk.”

Kako Anthropos

Kako glanced upwards at the arrival of Tarek. Yet he remained seated, one leg crossed over the knee of another and with his arms interlocked. Kako took a moment to breathe, before snarling. "No, we don't." With that, fire streaked up both of his arms, meeting at his shoulders and expanding upwards, until a roaring flame danced above Kako. For a moment it took the shape of a dragon, before the whole thing dissipated completely. Kako slowly stood up, taking a deep, long breath shortly afterwards. He waited a moment, before throwing a gigantic burst of fire from his mouth, spitting out a little flame afterward.

Mei's day wasn't bad, not really. He was ordered to look into a mass murder, no big deal, happened all the time. Though it did matter when it was civilians, not soldiers, and it was by the hand of a Firebender that they had died. He was in a sour mood after that, sour, but not completely terrible. Not until the report arrived detailing a visit by a certain Spymaster whom Mei knew enough about to dislike, perhaps not hate, but he didn't wish to be stuck near the man for any extended period of time.

Blast it all to hell if he wasn't angry after realizing he'd have to confront the damned fool. Who, in their right mind, kills civilians in such great numbers, honest, hardworking men and women too. Miners, for Avatar's sake.

Of course, he wasn't infuriated, but deeply annoyed, and rose wearily from his desk. He knew where to find the Spymaster's office. Not many had their room decorated with a taxadermied dragon hanging from the cieling.

He walked down the halls, the building, often times, felt like a prison. He knocked on the door, out of mere mannerism, more than worries of intruding. No reply, he opened the door, finding himself standing in an empty room, staring at the face of a dragon. Seeing the image burned away a small part of his mind. How could anyone be so cruel?

Not many men decorated their room with a taxadermied dragon...or had a secret door leading into the mountainside. Mei sighed again, walking down the corridor, which seemed to grow hotter as Mei continued deeper. Perfect, he'd always wanted to see a volcano from the inside.

Tarek Raiden

To say that Tarek didn’t half expect Kako to attack first ask questions later would be a lie, and so Tarek was ready. He instantly took a deep breath and fell into one of his own adapted stances. His face was emotionless and his eyes glowed orange as he allowed his chi energy to well up inside him. In an instant he lunged forward, sending his fist towards the approaching flames, sending a massive stream of flame directly into it, preventing it from reaching him

He held his stance for a while, pushing against Kako’s flames, before he spun around and launched a large fire ball from his foot right towards Kako. Regardless of whether or not the fire ball would hit its mark, Tarek thrust his arms out to the side, creating a spinning ring of flame above him, he focused and began spinning it faster and faster, until he finally let it lose. It rocketed towards Kako, making a high pitched sound as it cut through the air.

Kako Anthropos

Kako expected Tarek to defend against his first attack, it was only a simple one after all. He also expected a small attack in return, designed to distract him from a far more powerful attack that would come afterwards. That was after all what happened the last time they fought. Kako began to prepare something special and then surely enough a fireball emerged, which he quite easily dodged by simply leaning to the right, all the while keeping his eyes on Tarek as to see what came next. Of course, Tarek had concocted an odd spinning ring of sorts, Kako scoffed. His friend had always been one for odd, precise attacks. Kako had always been one for massive amounts of power, probably because he had quite a lot of it.

Whilst Tarek had been working on his assault, Kako had also been tuning something. It was a special attack he'd been saving for the right moment. He wanted to get everything over and done with, so he decided to use it early. Although he hadn't had nearly enough time to get it ready, so he'd have to leave everything til the last minute. His attack would require a great amount of concentration, so Kako had to make sure he wasn't distracted. Slowly, lines of flame began to run along his body, all converging at the center of his chest, from which they grew until Kako was completely surrounded by flame. The flames grew further, and began to take form, slowly shifting until they began to look like a half formed dragon head, which was missing a sizable chunk of it's face. Kako grunted as the disk approached, it appeared he hadn't enough time, but it would still do. The dragon roared, and Kako grinned as he was about to unleash the attack.

However, he caught sight of a figure walking through the passage, and took a moment to identify it is General Mei Fong. Because of this Kako was simply not able to maintain his offense, and the rest of the dragon lost it's form, exploding outwards and thankfully taking out the spinning ring in the process. Kako took a moment to catch his breath, and shouted to Mei. "You, get out. Unless you're with him." He gestured to Tarek. "In which case..." He conjured a raging ball of fire in both of his hands, not needing to say any more.

PostSubject: Re: Inferno II: Infern-OH SHIT!   Inferno II: Infern-OH SHIT! EmptyThu Feb 07, 2013 6:39 pm

Mei walked into the chamber, immediately finding the heat was drastically increased, and there was Kako, such a massive dragon floating above his head, all conjured from sheer skill. Maybe. But, luckily, Kako seemed to be angry at a bald man standing not too far from him, which was a comfort. Mei wasn't above violence, but he didn't particularly enjoy being forced into a fight without first knowing why.

It seemed Kako thought Mei was a threat, perhaps there to aid the bald man, who started to seem vaguely familiar to Mei. What was it now? Raiden...Tarek Raiden, helluva guy. Must be a good reason he was here pissing off, or perhaps, retaliating anger at Kako. The dragon was dispersed, and Kako's voice rang out, catching Mei's attention for the moment, "You, get out. Unless you're with him." He gestured at Tarek Raiden, "In which case...", was the order and threat, which was punctuated by a potent flame.

But, unfortunately for this entire building, really, Mei's day had gone from alright, to bad, to worse, and struck a half-water/half-fire-bending pose. He rolled his neck, and took one, quick step forward charging a flame on his left fist and unleashing it with as much heat as he could muster in a single attack, aiming the blast at Tarek. He didn't really know why, it was Kako who was threatening him, then again, attacking him seemed like it'd have serious consequences down the road, and besides, something about the lava's gleam against Tarek's bald head was so fucking annoying.

Tarek Raiden

It was just like Kako to whip out a huge, powerful attack. He was a powerful and aggressive bender, and was the one man in the world that Tarek didn’t underestimate. Although Tarek could summon similar displays of firebending power, he preferred not putting all his power into his strikes, but rather using precise, unrelenting attacks to tire his opponent out, before dealing the final strike. He fought defensively, using his speed and agility to launch devastating, lightning fast counter-attacks.

Kako seemed unable to finish charging his massive attack as Tarek’s whirling ring of flame closed in with him. He was forced to launch the attack anyway. Tarek shifted his stance into a strong, rooted one, similar to an earthbending stance, ready to face down Kako’s impressive dragon attack.

To his surprise, Kako seemed to lose concentration and his attack exploded outwards before it could reach Tarek. It seemed someone else had entered the room. Tarek had his back to the door and couldn’t look to see who it was without taking his eyes off Kako. So Tarek inhaled sharply, his face still as emotionless as before as he activated his heat sense, a special technique developed by his wife, Sanaki. Tarek knew that he was the only person in the world she had taught this technique to and he knew that his new, unique ability would come in very handy in this fight. He sensed the man behind him, and he recognized him as fellow General, Mei Fong. Tarek hadn’t spoken much with him other than a few formal greetings and such, but he knew him to be a good man and a powerful bender.

He figured that Mei had come to confront Kako as well, but what Mei done next, made Tarek sure that he was working with Kako. Tarek would normally have been filled with questions, but right now he was just exceptionally focused, instinctively reacting as Mei launched a large, super-heated flame blast towards him. He instantly turned with his hands raised towards the approaching fire-blast. He reached out with his senses, feeling the flame as it approached and then began bending it to his will, gaining some control over it. It was too large and was travelling too fast to stop dead in its tracks, so Tarek leapt into the air, spinning around and slingshotting Mei’s attack towards Kako, speeding it up substantially and adding a little extra juice to the already impressive attack.

Tarek spun a complete 360 degrees, landing nimbly with one hand on the ground, facing Mei again. He looked up and directed his cold, determined glare right into his fellow Generals eyes. Tarek knew enough about Mei to know that he was a gifted swordsman and adept at hand-to-hand fighting, and he wasn’t too keen on getting up close and personal with his brute of a friend, Kako either. He decided to stick with his real strength…bending.

Tarek‘s firebending was exceedingly powerful, even by a master’s standards. His in-depth knowledge of forgotten and ancient techniques from all four nations as well as some unique techniques of his own, along with his almost unnatural ability to control and manipulate his own chi energy, made him a particularly dangerous foe. It seemed that with two powerful masters attacking at once, he would have to cut loose. Which was something he almost never did.

His eyes let out a bright orange flash and he began to run sideways, throwing hundreds of quick jabs at Mei, alternating between left and right arms. The result was a literal barrage of high-powered fire blasts, all rocketing towards Mei. Soon fireballs filled the air and Tarek ran out room to run, he quickly crouched down and made a sweeping motion with his leg as he spun back towards Kako, launching a large arcing flame attack towards him at a blistering pace. He immediately proceeded to stomp on the ground, creating a wall of fire that came up out of the ground behind Kako. With a quick hand motion, he pulled the large wall of flame back towards his old friend.

The entire time, Tarek kept his heat sense on, he couldn’t be too careful and definitely couldn’t afford to get flanked and pinned down by the two firebenders. He had to stay aware of the situation and needed to know the positions of the two benders at all times. Most importantly, he *had* to keep moving.

Kako Anthropos

Kako smirked as Mei attacked Tarek. He knew Tarek wouldn't attack Mei without purpose, Mei's attack assured him that it would not be a two against one battle. He was, however still panting from the interrupted dragon attack. As such, when he saw an attack powered by both Tarek and Mei hurtling towards him, he decided to take the easy way out. Churning up the heat on his left hand, which he curled into a fist, he shot off the the left slightly, clearing the attack quite easily.

Looking at his enemies once again, Kako noticed that Tarek seemed rather distracted by Mei, another thing he noticed was that he seemed to be kicking things up a notch. Kako made a mental note to avoid that particular attack. Although he did not have much time to dwell on the matter, as the spymaster had to act quickly. He knelt for a moment and placed his open palms on the ground, sending small slivers of fire out in multiple directions. He was deliberately using an attack that he would not be suspected of using. Kako was famous for his pure power when it came to bending, and that was understandable. Giant, extreme attacks had always been what he favored. He was, however, a master, and he'd spent 32 years honing his skills as a firebender, this old dog still had some tricks.

Kako stood up again, and the five ropes of fire on the ground spread out unnoticed. Kako was in control of them, the only downside being that he wouldn't be able to firebend with his right hand, which was controlling them. These five ropes were quite deadly, though they were not large they were incredibly hot, and blindingly fast. Sadly Kako would not be able to watch from the sidelines, as an attack from Tarek came belting towards him. In a flash, Kako jumped into the air, curled his legs, and shot them back out once again. This caused a burst of fire to leap from both of his feet, sending him spiraling upwards and safely out of the reach of an attack. Or so he thought. His feet were not quite as accurate as his arms, and thus Kako twirled slightly in the air, and he happened to see a large wall erect itself behind him. The spymaster was of course heading right for it, so he took a deep breath and readied his left arm, intending to force through the wall with fire. Surely enough, he was able to, on the other side, he landed quite ungracefully, but on his feet. Unfortunately his legs had taken a bit of a beating from the fall, but it was nothing too serious.

Looking behind him, he saw Tarek in a firm position seemingly inspired by earthbending. Kako twitched two fingers, sending the same amount of fire snakes silently slithering towards Tarek. With the other arm, and as a distraction, he sent a fast, moderately powerful jet of fire just to the right of his friend, appearing that he missed, which was understandable considering his landing. He would concern himself with Mei later, besides, if Tarek was under the impression they were working together then that wasn't a bad thing. Whilst the distraction did it's thing the two fire snakes which were behind Tarek flew towards him.

General Mei Fong

Mei had expected a counter-attack, this was, afterall, becoming a rather serious fight. It's why Mei typically viewed a gathering of Firebending geniuses as a very real, very bad omen. Especially when they all have their reasons to be upset without anyone to take it out on.

That being said, Tarek's direct assault on Mei came as no surprise, he was a talented man, and the sheer number of the fireballs aimed at him came as a welcome reminder that he wasn't dealing with a couple of bandits, these men were of his caliber, and needed to be treated as such.

His instinct was to instantly throw up a flame shield, generating a near solid wall to deflect or absorb the incoming blasts. At the same moment, he began focusing on drawing the heat from the lava around them into his hands using it to force the shield outward into the room in a masive semi-circle, expanding outward, clearly not about to stop until it reached flesh, or the walls of the room, or, if these men were as intelligent as he's heard, throw up shields of their own.

He wasn't really aware of what was going on outside his little fire bubble, so he wasn't exactly sure where Tarek or Kako may be, hence the massive size of his second attack.

Tarek Raiden

Tarek was so focused on his opponents that he didn’t sense Kako’s sneaky attack with the fire snakes until it was too late. He suddenly felt an intense heat around his waist as the flame snakes lashed out at him. Tarek immediately grabbed them, using his bending to protect his hands as he tried pulling them off, but he could feel Kako on the other side of them, fighting to keep them on Tarek.

As Tarek wrestled with Kako and his fire snakes, he felt an immense surge of energy radiating from Mei. It seems the shield he erected had now become his weapon as he pushed it outwards. Tarek saw his chance and as the shield approached him he thrust his right arm out towards it, bending the flames away from him, creating a small slit in the shield that closed up immediately when Tarek was safely inside. He took a deep breath, Mei’s attack had destroyed Kako’s two fire snakes, and although he was burned, it wasn’t too serious. Although, It would have been a different story if he didn’t fight the attack off.

Despite being caught off guard, Tarek quickly noticed his opportunity to get a leg up on both Kako and Mei. Tarek quickly launched a bolt of intense lightning directly at Mei, followed by a quick blast of fire. He hoped Mei would try redirect it and get caught by the massive fire blast that directly followed. For Kako, however, he had another plan entirely. Just as Kako had caught Tarek with an unsuspecting attack, Tarek planned to do the same. He ran after the shield as it expanded, unable to see through it, but using his heat sense to sense where Kako was behind it. He caught up just as it was about to hit Kako and leapt forwards, launching two massive flames out of his palms directly at Kako. The flames were very large and very intense, Tarek had to keep his feet firmly rooted to avoid flying backwards. When the shield passed Kako, he would have a big surprise.

Kako Anthropos

Kako scowled as he felt two of his fire snakes leave him, with three remaining. Two separate plans formulated in his mind at one time. The first was that if the wall was going to obliterate his snakes, then Kako needed them near him. Within a moment, all three were at his feet. The second plan involved his cover. Kako intended to break through the wall with as much force as possible, as to carry on giving the impression he was already giving. Because of this, Kako began to charge an attack, which he would channel through his left arm. As the wall reached him he released the burst, which opened a large gap, causing it to pass by Kako without harming him.

However, there was something more dangerous on the other side, more specifically, two large bursts of fire heading towards him. Kako reacted in a split second, readying his right arm, and absorbing the three powerful fire snakes. Because of this, he was not only able to release a substantial burst of fire using the power of two of the snakes, he was also able to back up the attack from his left arm, which had lost a bit of power, by donating the final snake to it. The two attacks matched each other, and Kako's attacks were continuous, though it seemed his opponent's were too.

General Mei Fong

Mei watched Tarek move, seeing the lightning blast being hurtled towards him, he completely ignored everything else, aside from the red blast that appeared behind the blue. He shot his hand out, allowing the blast to travel down his arm before redirecting it to slam into the ground at Kako's feet.

The flames caught him, but not completely off guard. He managed to throw a heat-shield of sorts up, managing to keep the flames from touching his skin, or clothing directly, however the heat definately blistered his arms, and legs.

He growled angrily, stumbling backward as the flames disappated, and then, generated a two-fisted flame, charging the heat, and unleashed a flame with a diameter of 7 feet straight at Tarek, growing more irritated by the moment.

Tarek Raiden

A bright light and intense heat radiated from between Tarek and Kako as the two old friends duelled each other with their powerful flames. They wrestled with their two continuous attacks, pushing one another back and forth; none of them seemed to be able to get the upper hand for long. Tarek had his back to Mei, but thanks to his heat sense it didn’t worry him too much and Tarek continued shooting his two large flame jets at Kako.

Suddenly Tarek sensed Mei redirecting his lightning attack; surprisingly, the attack passed over Tarek and was headed straight for Kako. “Surely he’s not such a bad shot?” Tarek thought to himself, quickly using the opportunity to shoot a large, powerful fire pulse from his hands and through the fire jets. His flames instantly grew almost twice their size for a few seconds, but Tarek couldn’t relax as he sensed a second attack from Mei speeding towards him.

Mei's attack was very large, ensuring that Tarek couldn’t evade it by normal means. He knew the only way he could hope to avoid it, without wasting power on blocking it, was to go straight up. He instantly directed his hands downwards, still shooting the two jets of flame from his fists. He rocketed upward but couldn’t avoid the attack altogether and Mei’s flames caught his legs for a split second, burning right through his pants and scorching his skin. It was painful, but didn’t do any damage a session with a waterbending healer couldn’t fix.

Tarek hovered in the air, and turned his glare back towards Mei. Without warning, he released a burst of flame behind him, propelling himself towards Mei at a very high speed. As he rocketed through the air, Tarek created two long flame whips from his hands, which he planned to slam directly on top of Mei. When the whips hit anything, Tarek would release a burst of energy through them, causing them to have an exploding effect.

Kako Anthropos

Kako kept an eye on Mei, and a good job too, for a bolt of lightning originally shot by Tarek was heading towards him. Kako was in a tight position, he had but one option: to catch the lightning with his foot. Kako did just that, the lightning striking him on his right foot, instinctively, Kako diverted it upwards, into his stomach, where it would be easiest to contain for the amount of time he needed to. Of course this preoccupied him slightly, containing lightning was hardly an easy task, especially considering his engagement with Tarek. So when Tarek increased the strength of his attack, Kako could only do one thing, fly. Kako angled his hands facing the ground, yet still towards Tarek. Kako had previously been rooting himself to the ground in a stance designed to keep him stationary, so all he had to do was move out of it and the force of both the streams of fire coming out of his hands sent him not only upwards, but also backwards, considering the angle of his arms. Kako could only do this in a certain amount of time, however, and though he didn't sustain any injuries, the force of Tarek's attack scalded his arms before he could get away. Aside from that Kako managed to dodge the attack.

Kako let Tarek's assault pass under him as he was in the air, before landing with a thud. Finally he was able to use the lightning, he brought it up from his stomach and into his right arm, taking a moment to observe what was going on. Tarek had just finished attacking Mei, and his back was turned, Kako thought this the perfect moment to launch a bolt of super fast lightning at his back, and so he did. Before he did, however the spymaster took a moment to generate some of his own lightning, also sending it to his right arm. Kako's lightning was famously incredibly large, and extremely dangerous, due to his nature. As such, some of his lightning infused with the lightning of Mei Fong was bound to be a cut above the rest. Without a moment's thought for the safety of everyone on top of him (something uncharacteristic of him.) Kako released the lightning. It was a beast indeed, about four feet, both in width and height. With a spine chilling crash it leapt across the room, heading directly for Tarek.

General Mei Fong

Mei's initial reaction to Kako's foot redirection was surprise, then, as he launched the blast at Tarek, and Tarek launched himself at Mei. He realized he'd not get off lucky, that the blast would pass Tarek several feet behind him. He kicked off the ground straight at Tarek, propelling himself forward to meet his opponent head on.

His the proceeded, to pull back his right fist, and then swing with all the force he could muster, releasing a jet of flame to increase th speed of the swing, aiming his right cross at Tarek's jaw, prepared to, at least, redirect the blow if he had to.

Tarek Raiden

As Tarek flew through the air towards Mei, it came as no surprise that Mei had launched himself up towards Tarek as well, readying what looked like a powerful right cross as far as Tarek could see. Tarek inhaled deeply, his aim would have to be precise if he were to hit Mei and still avoid his punch. He focused on his opponent; mentally following Mei’s flight path and calculating the best time to launch his attack. His plan was to swing his arms inward, wrapping his fire-whips around Mei and then flinging him off to the side before he could land his fire-fueled punch on Tarek.

However, something else unexpectedly caught Tarek’s attention, his heat sense suddenly picked up a huge build up of energy coming from Kako. He had little time to react and had to break off his attack on Mei if he were to avoid it. With as much power as he could muster, he released a jet of flame from his right hand, abruptly changing his course. He wasn’t a second to soon as a monstrous bolt of lightning, fuelled with the energies of all three the masters in the room, shot past him, missing him very narrowly. It wasn’t over, however, Kako’s lightning might have missed Tarek, but it proceeded to hit the ceiling of the cave with such a force that it blew a large chunk of it clean off, creating a massive shockwave that flung Tarek to the ground.

Luckily for Tarek, he managed to slow his fall at the last minute avoiding serious injury, although he was still a little battered and his ears were ringing annoyingly. As Tarek rolled on his back, recovering from the fall, his eyes suddenly widened. He watched in horror as a large chunk of the ceiling hurtled down towards the lava below. In the next instant, it happened. The boulder crashed into the lava, creating a huge splash, hurling scorching hot lava balls around the room. Tarek had act quickly and roll out of the way of a number of the approaching lava balls, despite being a master firebender, Tarek knew that only the avatar was capable of bending lava.

After the threat of the falling lava had passed, Tarek used the opportunity to attack. He still had a flaming whip in his left and he flung it towards Kako’s ankle from his position still lying on the ground, keeping it low to minimize the chances of his old friend noticing it. If it connected it would wrap around his ankle and Tarek would pull Kako off his feet.

Kako Anthropos

Fortunately Kako had been quite far away from the giant falling piece of ceiling, so he didn't have much to worry about. Of course, if there was one thing that stood out it was the giant, shining flaming whip. Because he was keeping an eye on it, Kako was able to dodge it quite easily, generating some flame in his foot and breaking the whip with a tremendous kick as it came.

Next, he turned his attention to Mei. Though he would prefer to focus on Tarek he didn't wish to wear himself out fighting him and have Mei swoop in and defeat both of them. It was because of that that he decided to attack him. But he would have to do it quickly. The spymaster raised a hand, and began to gather as much firepower in it as possible. Whilst he did that he sprinted towards Mei, gaining as much ground as possible before skidding to a halt and releasing an extremely thin, extremely powerful concentrated spear of fire, heading right for his chest.

General Mei Fong

Tarek looked prepared to strike, as the two propelled toward one another, that was, until his gaze flicked toward Kako. Mei felt it too, not that he could see it like Tarek could, but he could feel the energy, though he was going to ignore the Spymaster for the time being, at least until he broke Tarek's jaw, though Tarek hadn't shared his sentiments, and quickly diverted himself to the side, leaving Mei to roll forward, killing his momentum with a quick blast.

He didn't, however, notice the falling chunk of earth until it was too late. The splashing lava, spewed out in every direction. In a brief moment, the General reflected on his life, perhaps dying in a volcano would be a worthy death for a Firebender. It didn't kill him, however, he felt a glob of the molten rock strike his left shoulder, burning through his jacket, and into the muscle and flesh beneath.

He couldn't recall having felt pain like that before, reaching his right hand up to lift the material up, covering his hand in a sort of pain fueled heat shield, flinging it aside as a second bit bounced onto the right rear-side of his right shin. He kicked it off quickly, however it had blistered and popped before he managed to get it off. He didn't cry out in pain, but his his tongue hard enough to draw blood, his eyes watering as he fought to keep control of his reaction. He was sure he'd shaved a half-inch of flesh off his left shoulder, maybe more. He couldn't really feel it, or his right shin after a few more moments.

To top it all off, the blast aimed at him by Kako, wasn't a blast at all, but a spear of flame aimed straight at his chest. He stepped back weakly, catching his weight on his right leg and gritting his teeth, shooting his right hand, out flat, slicing the incoming spear in two, diverting the attack off to his right and left before taking a few hobbling steps forward. Even wounded, he wouldn't be outdone.

He returned fire with a quick cross, sending a fireball back at Kako, kicking off the ground with his left leg, and sending a downward arc at him with his right leg, which fought fiercely against the movement, despite Mei's efforts, which caused him to fall, stumble, and regain his footing closer to Kako than he would have liked to be, only about forty feet between them.

Tarek Raiden

Kako managed to spot Tarek’s whip and destroy it before it could grab him, though it was what Kako done next which really surprised Tarek. He attacked Mei. All this time Tarek was under the assumption that Mei was working with Kako, but now things were looking different. “Why the hell did Mei attack me…why the hell did Kako?” he thought to himself in a brief moment of clarity. None of this made any sense. Regardless, Tarek wasn’t being double teamed for the first time in this fight, and so now as Kako and Mei started duking it out, Tarek seized his opportunity.

He took a deep breath and began pulling heat from the lava around him to re-energise him for the attack he was about to perform. If there was thing that was true about Tarek, it was that he could summon tremendous power when bending. He began using an ancient technique, which in the hands of a master firebender became truly deadly. He started by creating a powerful flame in front of him which promptly started spinning around him, progressively getting faster and faster, leaving long, bright trail of flame behind it.

He focused his chi energy and began releasing it as he lifted his hands. The flame started lifting up, spinning around him at ridiculous speeds, weaving a large spinning funnel of fire around Tarek. He closed his hands into tight fists and the funnel closed up above him, completely enveloping Tarek in a spinning dome of fire. He crouched down and placed his fists on the ground as he started charging his attack up. From the outside, Tarek would not be visible in the rapidly spinning, pulsating ball of fire.

A crackle of lighting could be heard coming from within the whirling dome of flame, Tarek was charging up lightning too. Once his attack was fully charged, he reached out with his senses, determining where his opponents were. Once he determined that, he took a deep breath, it was time.

Without warning, Tarek released all the energy had charged up, pushing the powerful, spinning fire-dome outwards at an incredible speed. He immediately followed up, raising his arms out towards Kako and Mei respectively and releasing two thin, but incredibly powerful lightning bolts at each of them. Of course he had a reason for this; He knew that the lightning would be faster than the rapidly expanding dome and as the whirling dome of flames sped towards Mei and Kako, Tarek’s lightning suddenly passed through it, heading straight for each of them, closely followed by the his deadly, whirling flames.

Kako Anthropos

Kako grinned slightly as Mei was affected by the globs of lava that reached him, glancing at Tarek for a moment, he could see that they were both about to be attacked, it would be preferable for Tarek to be interrupted. However, Kako was unable to do this, as he was soon greeted by a fireball, which he sidestepped instinctively. Kako guessed this would be followed by something more powerful, as was turning out to be standard procedure. Kako knew he wasn't going to be able to do much about one of them, he could hardly block both, so he turned to an entirely new tactic, which he had no doubt would be unexpected.

Kicking forward, he dived until he was just about horizontal, throwing his arms back and letting two streams of fire loose, both of which propelled him towards Mei. He reached Mei in a matter of seconds, landing next to him after releasing his jets and moving into a roll. Mei was between him and Tarek, it seemed. Kako was crouched, and immediately struck out at the back of his shin with an elbow. Pushing himself upwards, he grabbed the back of the arm nearest to Tarek, and furthest from him. With great force, he pulled Mei towards him, keeping one hand on his arm, wrapping another around his neck, turning him towards Tarek. If Mei chose not to do anything, he'd take most of the damage, but Kako knew he had it in him to stop it, which would be preferable since he wouldn't be in pain.
