A City is Reborn [Open]

(Da-Zho gained control over Omashu with Elegys, see Da-Zho's shop. This is a continuation of that.)

Da-Zho Yin	The blacksmith stood on a podium overlooking the populace of Omashu. Nerves gathered in the pit of his stomach. It had been several days since he and Elegys incapacitated the King of Omashu, and time was running out that they could run the city unnoticed. Elegys had since left to pursue his journey, and Da-Zho was glad to deal with the aftermath. He had a vision for this city. Da-Zho gripped the podium and looked at the cards for his speech one last time. He looked left and right at the guards that claimed they were now loyal to him, and felt his longbow underneath the podium, in case something went wrong. "Citizens of Omashu, of the Earth Kingdom, I have important news for all of you. In the past few days I have risen to a position that offers me a chance to change our lives. The King of Omashu has fallen, and I am in the opportunity to rise into his power by Mandate of Heaven, but I shall relinquish that gift. I have had in my mind a strong vision of what this city must become, and I wish to introduce it to you. We live in a time marked by visions of progress. You all have experience with industrialization, and surely many of you know how I feel about that, but this is not about my personal feelings. In this time of change, the people will be those affected the most, and to respond to this change I want to put the power in your hands. I introduce to you democracy. This city will no longer be guided by the malevolent hand of a king, but rather the joined hands of its collective people. Those entwined with the bureaucracy fear not, you shall remain, so that we can execute what the people decide and we can maintain strong ties with the Earth Queen. We still remain under her control and we shall have to work so that she will not destroy this great thing we can create. I am currently writing a charter of how this society shall function, and for now I retain complete control, but this is a notice to all of you citizens that what is old is going, and new times are upon us. Good day, and good luck." Da-Zho left the podium to a mixture of cheers and jeers. It would likely take time before this was wholly accepted, but fortunately Da-Zho had the guards on his side. The blacksmith returned to the makeshift office in the throne room, where he was writing the new charter, but it was still aways from completion.

Da-Zho Yin	Da-Zho signed his name on the document that would create the new government. The easiest part of the job was done, and the real work laid in front of Da-Zho. He would need to recruit archers to his An Mangmar, which would be difficult. He had already sent notices to the archers in the guard that they would be required to demonstrate their skills for consideration, but Da-Zho needed to find some truly skilled bowmen. More difficulties laid out in front of Da-Zho. Even though he had relinquished his command over the city, he would need to remain highly active in the political circuit for some time. It was highly likely that with the peoples' newfound sense of political freedom, they would attempt to free Omashu from the Earth Queen. Da-Zho could not help but claim responsibility for that, as he had planted that idea in the populace. This would be his beast to fight. The Earth Queen was another situation. Da-Zho had declared allegiance to her but he did not know if that would hold. He himself had issues with the monarchy, but whether the Earth Queen would allow for Omashu's new life was beyond him. Da-Zho would need to prepare for war just as much as he would for peace. The blacksmith headed back to his shop. He would have to pen some letters.
