PostSubject: Bo Li Zailika[Completed]   Bo Li Zailika[Completed] EmptyMon Aug 19, 2013 8:38 pm

Full Name: Bo Li Zalika
Gender: Male
Age: 18
Element: Earth
Birthplace: Ba Sing Se, Earth Kingdom
Position:
Training: Earthbending(Expert), Metalbending(Intermediate), Projectile Weapons(Expert), Swordsmanship(Intermediate).

Personality: Bo Li is a very quiet and unassuming male from the Earth Kingdom. From a young age, Bo Li's life was something of an unforgivable, cruel joke of a childhood. He seems to despise his parents, but comes to an understanding that their misguided ways of teaching and raising him were in their best interests for him. It hard hardened his mind from the young age, gave away any illusion of trust, and he began to develop a sense of loyalty and obediance, to the Earth Kingdom alone. He adopted a rather serious and quiet outlook on life in the public eye, willing only to take orders from the leader of the Earth Kingdom. He believed that only one person could command him, the one person he was raised to be loyal to, without fear or hesitation.

Bo Li is quiet and serious, not simply due to his upbringing, but also by choice. An intelligent young mind that was given the best teachers and masters the world had to offer, Bo Li can demonstrate a superior knowledge of not only the Earth Kingdom, but also knowledge of the other Nations. He can be quite decisive, and quick thinking, allowing him to come up with a strategy on a moments notice of new information. He seems to dislike politics a little too much and has a disdain for those who enjoy it. He absolutely hates nonsense when he is on the job and can be rather cruel to those he finds doing such, having no tolerance or patience for them.

Bo Li has once been described as one of the most clever and cunning warriors to exist, though he would dispute that he has much to learn from those before him. Though his main principle of fighting is the neutral principle of jing, which involves listening, waiting and attacking at the right moment. However, the multitude of masters and teachers he learned under has given him a versatility as both a fighter and a thinker. He may enjoy and love the neutral principle of jing, Bo Li is not against using different strategies to suit the battle.

Despite the attitude he may of adopted due to his, abnormal childhood, Bo Li does enjoy a goodd joke every now and again when he isn't working. He seems to enjoy visiting tea shops, and knows how to brew his own tea. Bo Li has quite the fascination and love for tea, though he enjoys it simply because it helps him remain calm. Likewise, he is also well-traveled, as he was sent away to learn under these teachers. He dislikes the Air Nomad culture, mostly for their pacifist nature, but respects them regardless for their power and high level or spirituality. He is also somewhat of a family man, wishing that one day he will be able to smile with his own children about their achievements.

Bo Li also seemed to be something of a philosopher, often talking nonsense or complete sense. This ties heavily into his respect for the Air Nomads, as he believes that the other nations could learn from them. He has a sense of right from wrong, but an inner tumoil threatens Bo Li. His own beliefs clash with what was drilled into him since his youth, and Bo Li seems to regret some choices after he makes them, typically those that may seem immoral, but nessecary. He looks to the history of the world for comfort during these times, and often his biggest weakness is that he would rather talk than battle. He is also modest and thinks more of others than himself.

Abilities: (210)Strategist: Placing an emphasis on using any tactic available, Bo Li has developed a strong sense of using his available resources and military strength to an advantage. Though he typically advises the use of the neutral jing, he can easily find a way to adapt into another strategy depending on his knowledge of his own forces and the enemy forces. Though not as refined as someone of more experience might be, Bo Li is impressive to say the least. He keeps this refined and improves it by playing many strategy and warfare games with others.

Earthbending: As Bo Li's parents were both skilled Earthbenders, their son was given the best teachers possible. Though apprenticed, Bo Li was very skilled, somewhat better than his master. He used his Earthbendering primarily with the neutral principle of jing, a tactic where you listen and wait for the best moment to strike. Therefore, he is very defensive when earthbending and often does not speak until a fight it over.

Seismic Sense and Metalbending: As metalbending requires the user to be able to feel the impurities within the metal, Bo Li was trained vigorously by his parents to see without his eyes. They did this by blindfolding their son and having him feel for the changes in the earth itself. Eventually it developed, though not as well as they had hoped. Bo Li typically must make physical contact with what he wants to metalbend, as he is still learning it, but has come far. His metalbending is used to disarm non-bender attackers, or when he wishes to communicate with an opponent who needs to be restrained, but it a bender.

Projectile Weapons: Bo Li is capable of attacking with throwen weapons, with precision and speed. He is nimble and creative when using these weapons, watching the terrain and making great use of it to keep the battle in his favor. Training under a weapon expert who specialized in throwen weapons such as senbon, kunai, and shurikens, Bo Li rarely makes use of these skills unless he deems it required. Though he keeps skills like these ready to be used, he rarely wants to use them and instead opts to hide these skills. This comes from the neutral jing, and he chooses so because when he travels, he wishes not to be known as an Earthbender, but simply a young man who wants to see the world.

Swordsmanship: Trained under several great wielders of the sword, Bo Li himself is able to wield a sword, chosing a jian. He is graceful and nimble, showing acrobatic movements and impressive self-control. Though he is no master, Bo Li is quite impressive and often applies the neutral principle of jing here as well, though there is typically no earthbending. He seems to enjoy using his sword when he uses projectile weapons, and rarely uses the jian and his skills for it, unless he requires to use them.

Appearance:
Height: 5'11
Weight: 170lbs
Eyes: Green
Hair: Brown, almost a Black
Skin: Light, between Peach or Pale

Bo Li, standing at 5'11 and weighing 170lbs, he is as fit as an earthbender must be. His childhood had drilled into him that he must have strength, and as such carries weight from his muscles. His skin is somewhere between a peach color, or a pale. His face is rather handsome, with slanted eyes, the iris' green and somewhat thin eyebrows. His hair is neck-length and styled to be loose but spikey. The hair color is confusing, appearing brown in brighter areas, but almost a black when in the dark. On his neck, hidden by his hair is a tattoo of the Earth Kingdom symbol.

Bo Li has a rather plain attire. His outfit consists of clothing, which the color lies as a mixture between brown and orange. He wears a long-sleeved shirt which has a long cloth piece that possesses belt loops. These belt loops seem to hold the front side down, but not the back. With a high collar cloak that only covers the upper part of his chest. He wears gauntlets on his arms. He wears loose-fitting pants with large combat boots. This attire is his most worn attire and typically serves as his military outfit.

Whenever Bo Li travels the world, he wears simple, green pants that are loose, with no shoes and a vest the same color as the pants. He wears a white clock over these, concealing what he is wearing or carrying. The cloakc seems to contain fancy pockets for hiding porjectile-based weaponry, and he keeps a sheath for his sword around his waist. Out of a need to hide the tattoo on his neck, his neck, part of his upper chest, and lower face are wrapped in bandage.

History: (520) Born into a family that was already well represented as upper-middle class, Bo Li was well looked after by his parents, one of which was a sibling of the future Earth Queen, Meili. Bo Li never learned the names of his parents, and was only permitted to address them as mother and father. Despite this, he did know the names of his grandparents, Sizoko and Kozue Zaliki. Despite such a family tree, Bo Li didn't have the childhood that would make other children green with envy. A lengthy tale of horror, pain, cruelty, torture, and absolutely little care. This tale began to be written when Bo Li became 5, during which he was informed that he would be trained in Earthbending.

When his training commenced, it was not just hard. It was excruciatingly painful. Not only did Bo Li's master expect him to master the basics, but also the intermediate level techniques and learn the neutral principle of jing. Bo Li was entirely stressed by the training regime, and later his master approached the young boy and offered him some insight. This advice came with tea, though not a single word was spoken. Though he would struggle with his earthbending for the next 3 months, eventually the basics and intermediate came to him and his parents were impressed, but nonetheless demanded a more intense regime that would involve him learning to metalbend.

This time, he transfered to a new master to apprentice under. She was brutal and unforgiving, and suffice to say, whenever Bo Li failed to use his manners, or fail at a training exercise, Bo Li suffered. He was either pelted with small, sharp stones, or the tattoo on his neck was reapplied with more pressure. Bo Li, quite fearful of failure, began remaining quiet and took his training seriously. Because he was being taught earthbending, his new master made him start by living as if he was blind. For 3 months, Bo Li had a terrible, cruel, and harsh lifestyle. He was malnourished, bruised and battered, but one thing kept him going throughout this and tune him into seeing with the vibrations in the ground. The tea his first master introduced to him. By three more months, he was able to see the vibrations without his blindfold.

Still under the same master, Bo Li began his actual training that would involve him learning the bending art. He started with using metal coins, something which he was troubled with at first. He was not allowed to physically touch anything metal, and had to learn how to metalbend from a distance. Slowly, more so than ever, did he master it by the age of 9, having started his formal training at 5. Still, his parents were unimpressed and whisked him away to travel with street performers who boasted superior skills of the sword and thrown weapons.

While living with a few travelling street performers, Bo Li went by the name of the Adamant. Not a name he chose, but he found the life of a performer much better than what his life was. Though by this time, he began to grasp why his parents were doing these things. Bo Li began to comply by shutting away his emotions while working, and only expressing them while relaxing. He also began his formal training under a skilled acrobat who used projectile weapons for her act. Under her tuteledge, Bo Li learned all about precision and accuracy, and that the neutral jing can be applied to this as well.

Though his training with her was short, he moved onto a man who thought like Bo Li did. He was the one who decided that Bo Li would be known as Adamant. This man was much older, though not too older than his own parents. By now, it was his 15th birthday and this old man spent their training with writing, painting, landscaping, and forging Bo Li a sword, one unique for him. Bo Li also began to pick up a little about strategy, playing several strategy games with the old man. Eventually, the old man passed away, but had given his secrets to Bo Li, who returned to the Earth Kingdom.

Noticing that their son had vastly improved from when he was a 5 year old, they called in tutors from each nation, having him cultured in every nation as well as knowledgable about many types of strategies. He grasped these fairly easy and his tutors were impressed by Bo Li's progress. Though one of his teachers, from the Air Nomads, tried to trick Bo Li. It ended up that the teacher became the student, as Bo Li had turned it into an entirely different conversation about the importance of tea. Afterward, he praised Bo Li as one of the most cunning and clever warriors alive, but he digressed and said that he others to learn from.

He spent the rest of his time before his 18th birthday honing his skills. He was rumored to be a prodigy, both in physical and mental capacity. Despite this, pressure that he had weighing him down, he moved forward with his head held high and never forgot to drink tea, or offer it to his guests.

Note: If the weapons are not up to standards, I will work on them. I'm just not that great with describing the physical appearance of people and complex items.
